i sometimes get really bad aches on the upper teeth on the right hand side of my mouth. Its like four teeth that randomly hurts like crazy. I have braces but I dont think it is from that becuase I am getting them off in a few days and my teeth should not be moving anymore. if anyone can at least give me a vauge idea of what might be happening i would really appreciate that. thank you.
Toothache!?
Well besides cavities, it could be your gums. Since, it is difficult to floss with braces sometimes you gums can get inflammed and cause pain in an area. Also, it may be your sinus if you have allergies or a sinus issue sometimes that causes pain on the more than one tooth in the upper area. When they remove your braces you can let them know so that they can take an x ray and detect the problem..
Reply:sounds like some form of nerve damage. Of particular concern was when you said it hurt "like crazy".
Reply:You may just have really severe tooth sesitivity, or possibly an infection along the nerves of your teeth and jaw. My sister had this problem. Was solved by root canal.
I recommend ADVIL!!!! Don't bother with Tylenol, it barely helps at all. Anything that contains Ibuprofin will do the trick.
Reply:It's your wisdom teeth. If you're under 21 and your parents insurance covers dental. Then I suggest you have it extracted, one week of some pain and it's all over.
Reply:Listen to Kitty Lucy
Reply:Pain huh, must be from acid. Acid makes your teeth sensitive, so try drinking less orange juice or anything acidy. Something that would make the pain go away is Tylenol #3, which is stronger than over-the-counter Tylenol. In order to get these you need a prescription from the doctor or dentist. Works for me hehe. Also it may be from an infection, so you need to go SEE THE DENTIST!
Reply:DONT GET ANXIOUS FOR EVERY BODY RELATED PROBLEMS.
I HAVE A HOME REMEDY FOR YOU
* GRIND A FEW NEEM LEAVES AND APPLY IT TO YOUR TEETH EVERYNIGHT.
* TAKE NEEM POWDER AND MIX T WITH COCONUT OIL AND GARGLE.
* IF PROBLEMS PERSIST,GO TO A DENTIST
HOPE THAT WORKS =)
Reply:Actually my mom is a dentist I asked her about this and she told me that its the effect of the braces it means that its effective so no worries and maybe you just ate something that stucked into your teeth and by d way I have braces too
Reply:Having just gone through my 1st toothache at 53 years old I can tell you sometimes they can be more serious than just aches. One thing is if the teeth are infected or the gums it can set up an infection which began to hurt me through my whole body. I hurt everywhere like I had the flu! Food can be trapped especially because of the braces in your teeth and gums. Here is some things you can do until you visit the dentist: Rinse with warm salty water after each meal and at bedtime, stir one teaspoon of salt into 8 ounces of warm water, try a hand massage this can ease the pain. Rub an ice cube into the area where the bones of the thumb and forefinger meet. Gently push the ice over the area for 5-7 minutes, Oil up with oil of cloves--most drugstores carry bottles of the oil. Drop a little direcly onto the tooth. Use a soft tooth brush and a toothpaste for sensitive teeth.Don't bite, suck on some ice, swallow your aspirin--I put a baby asprin right on my tooth, Keep heat awa from your aching cheek, if it is infection the heat will draw the infection out to your jaw.
Believe me. Take care of those teeth. I've got good ones but the old hubby, younger than me loves candy and has an upper plate to pay for it; real teeth are better.

Toothache....?
I have a pain in my molar. Its kind of hard to explain but I only feel it when I jump up, smack my head, or step hard. Like when there is a vibration or alot of movement. I dont really feel it when i eat. I looked at the tooth and i dont see any signs of cavities. What could it be?
Toothache....?
See a dentist to be sure.....

Toothache.?
I have been having this pain in my gum/tooth area. It is the worst when I lie down. It is very sensitive to hot and cold. I think it might be in infection. I have tried vicodin, tylenol, Ibuprofen, nasal decongestants, orajel, and the only thing that takes the pain away is when I swish my mouth out with very cold water. But that only takes the pain away for about two minutes. I have not been able to sleep in three days because everytime I try to sleep, my tooth starts throbbing, and when I use cold water to help it, I can only fall asleep for a few minutes at a time, because the pain in my tooth wakes me up. I know it isnt a cavity, wisedom tooth, absessed tooth, or anything like that. This has happened once before but It went away after a couple hours. Does anyone know what this is, and what to do about it, besides going to the dentist. Does it sound like an infection. Will taking Amoxicillin help.
Toothache.?
Amoxicillin will help for a short period of time and it is not solving your problem. You need to have a root canal or an extraction. Taking pain meds don't help becasue there is an abscess or infection in the tooth and the abscess needs to be removed before you will feel any true relief. Call your dentist~
Reply:I have always heard that if cold water makes the pain go away you have damaged the nerve in your tooth. The only way to get relief is to go to the dentist. Please don't wait any longer, you sound like you are so miserable!
Reply:After many years of toothache experience I would say this is an infection and amoxicillin isn't going to help it. Your best bet is get to a dentist. You will be happy you did. Good luck!
Reply:you need to see the dentist it sounds like it may by an infection reaching down tooth cavity into the nerves under the tooth.
Reply:Amoxicillin may very well help.
I'm not a dentist but some of your symptoms sound like TMJ
which is a form of Arthritis. It is called the great deceiver and can make any part of your body hurt.
Are you stressed or upset about anything. Make sure that you don't clench or grind your teeth together. Is the pain close to the back of your mouth like by your jaw? Try opening your mouth as far as you can then closing it.
You need to go to the Dentist as soon as you can.
I said a prayer for you. Hope you get bettter real soon.
Reply:Go to the dentist........ PenVK is usually PRESCRIBED by the dentist for infections.. please don't take a antibiodic without getting it prescribed and using it properly, people who do this actually cause resistant strains of bacteria ( Ex. MRSA) Just bite the bullet and go to your dentist so the infection doesn't spread.... BTW an abcess is an infection.

Reply:From your description ,it seems like an acute reversible pulpitis, which is inflammation of the pulp with acute symptoms due to some cause, may be a cavity. Visit your dentist to find out. For the time being You can try Aceclofenac 100mg tablet twice daily. Is there root abrasion at the gum tooth interface or a gum recession? As sometimes caries of the root also ,can cause it. Feel free to ask , With detail description of your symptoms on email.

Toothache??
About a month ago, I was taking antibiotics for an abscess growing under my tooth. While I was taking them, my tooth felt as though it was trying to come out! Well, long after I finished taking the pills, it still felt as though the tooth was trying to come out and it was a bit annoying. So at times, I would try to push it down with my teeth. I think this made it worse because now, there is a ball at the bottom of my gum. It's on my right jaw toward the bottom. I can feel it with my tongue and finger; it feels as thought it gets bigger. What could this be!!?? It really hurts.
Toothache??
Does your Dentist do "on call" service? Sometimes the ER Dispatcher will tell you who you can call..
in the meantime get some extra strenght pain relieving Orojel.. (not sure if I spelled it right) but it's some gel stuff that you put on the area, that takes away the pain.
Take some extra strenght pain killers to get you through the weekend!
But try ...to get in to be seen asap.. you could develop an new infection or the old one didn't quite go all away... and that can be very painful.. if you wait to long!
Hope you get to feel better soon !
cheers :)
Reply:been there...ouch!! get it extracted, or save it with a root canal, which to me is a waste of money.
just get it pulled
Reply:no idea maybe it didn't go away? i would go see a dentist
Reply:I had a similar experience. It's probably an infection, or gingivitis. A dentist can tell you better. You can go to a regular doctor and get some antibiotics to fight the infection. If it's gingivitis, then you may need to see a dentist for a good teeth cleaning. In the meantime, get pain killers, like Tylenol 1's until you get in to see a physician. It'll help kill the pain. Trust me, I've been there. Good luck!
Reply:Sounds like this "ball" is the abcess still there.
Root canal was a waste of time for me as well when this happened....save your money and have it extracted!
Reply:It is the abcess, it isn't gone, you need to see a dentist ASAP, it will get worse without treatment.
Reply:Yeah the abscess is still there, just get it remove. However once you get it remove you must still replace that tooth.
Reply:Last winter, one morning I woke up with a lump the size of a golf ball on my face. I had no idea what it was and I was freaking out! It hurt terribly, so I was taking ibuprofen and that was helping. So maybe 3 or 4 days later, I was biting my lip (not purposely, just a habit) and all of a sudden I had this HORRIBLE taste in my mouth, so I ran to the bathroom and turns out it exploded- that's when I realized it was an abscess tooth. So maybe if you're really lucky it will go away? But I doubt it, you should really see the dentist.
Reply:For god sakes go see a dentist ASAP unless you want a nice pair of dentures!
Reply:Taking an antibiotic clears up the infection, but if you don't get a root canal or have the tooth extracted, once the antibiotic is out of your system, the infection comes back. You have an abcess and until you go to the dentist and have something done it won't go away. A root canal is usually the smart way to go if the tooth itself is saveable. Who wants a hole in their smile, or a fake tooth. The root canal saves the tooth by replacing the dead and infected root with a filling like substance, but most of the time the tooth got infected in the first place because of deep decay in the tooth. If that's the case you'll probably need a crown over the tooth once the decay is removed.

Toothache!!!!?
has anybody got any miracle cures to take the edge off the pain. and no smart answers such as a dentist..where am i going to get a dentist at 11pm on a saturday night.anything you think that might help..thank you.
Toothache!!!!?
Well, it's been four days since you posted that question, so hopefully you either went to the ER on Sat night and were put on some antibiotics and then had a followup appointment with your dentist on Monday OR you waited until Monday to be seen by your dentist after being miserable all weekend... I sure hope it was the first one.
...and I hope you're feeling better now.
:)
Reply:I've been in your predicament, and it's awful. Aleve will kick the pain until you can get to the dentist.
Reply:Go to your pharmacy or in England it's your chemist and get some oral gel, or what ever your chemist recommends.
Reply:Hi there,,I know the feeling,,If you have an asperine,or tylenol..any thing that will cure your head ache,,then all you need to do is crush it and put it in your tooth,,hold your finger on it till it all desolves,,thats it,,all better,,have a better day
Reply:Ibuprofin- 800 to 1200 mg. It helps kill the infection too. Also if you have access to antibiotics start them.
Reply:Ive been there and the only thing I know of is Anbesol and you can take like 4 200 milligram advil which equals an 800 milligram persciption strength advil but thats only if you can take advil

ToothAche???
I broke my wisdom tooth last week and it is starting to hurt... What should I do??? I have insurance but the dental insurance isn't that great.... I don't have a lot of $$ to put down up front???
ToothAche???
You should get your tooth repaired/ pulled. Obviously you can't ignore it forever... and because its broken it's at risk of developing an abscess.. Here are some links
http://www.aafp.org/afp/20030201/511.htm...
http://www.abcessed-teeth.com/wisdom_too...
You have a medical situation that you really shouldn't ignore. As you can see from those images..this could get really ugly (and painful!) It's hard to really suggest where you can seek assistance for the financial aspect of it all without knowing where you're located...for example where I am~ this situation would be considered a "Dental Emergency" and is covered by provincial health coverage.. You could try Googling "emergency dental coverage in "your area" " or "financial assistance for broken tooth in "your area".
Have you tried asking family members or close friends? Can you take a loan from the bank? Pick up a few extra shifts or some overtime at work?
Hopefully you figure this out and Soon!! Good Luck!

They have medication called Orajel and stuff that's just for toothaches it should be at any grocery store with a pharmacy...it's over-the-counter
Reply:You really should go to a dentist, I know they are expensive but if it is hurting, you may need real work. Alot of dentist let you make payments each month. Call around. If u let it go and it gets worse its going to be alot more expensive. And forget using the stuff out there for pain like orajel it only works for a very short time.
Reply:You need to get that fix, because you do have some type of dental insurance they can probably work with you on the billing. You should try calling around to find out.
Reply:temp fix. i have this stuff called "tooth ache medecine". it's oil of cloves and will totaly numb out your tooth.. it comes with these little cotton balls you dip in the oil. place that on the painful area and pain gone...not sure where you can find it at, but may want to check local druggist. GL with it!
Reply:take some pain killer then go to the dentist they can work with the billing issue, you need help, i don't think they will turn you away, just try, you are in pain.
Reply:Toothaches or shall we say strange pain on one of your teeth or the gum-line is usually the starting point of severe or worst dental problems. Aside from giving you sleepless nights of painful miseries and difficult chewing, it could actually threaten your health and worst could kill you. Before it's too late, get dental health care advices and solutions at http://www.themouthdoctor.com/dentalheal... and free yourself from the dangers of dental problems.

2) Place garlic in cut and mash up
3) squeeze half the lemon into cup
4) add 1/2 tablespoon of salt
5) dip a cotton ball in the solutions and place it on your aching tooth
Your tooth should stop hurting in 5-10 mins.

Reply:tooth decay....if the pain starts when you lay down, most likly you need a root canal
Reply:Go to the dentist and find out why, until then take advil, if you don't have any ambesol or orajel handy, rub a whole clove over the gums of the tooth in pain (sounds crazy, but it really works)

Toothache??
i know this sounds funny and weird but honestly when im with my boyfriend for a vacation my tooth hurts and when im going back home in my city, then it's gone - no more toothaches. i have noticed this thrice now. Why is it like this? :s heeelp! thank u.
Toothache??
it could be allergies, your sinuses are connected to the nerves of the top teeth so if your maxillary sinuses are slightly enflamed your teeth are going to be the ones feeling it. If it is your top molars mainly then try some allergy meds when youre on vacation.
Reply:Maybe it's any psychological injury, or simple air-water effect.

OR (my favorite) soak some napkins in Jack Daniels and tuck it between your gums and tooth.... it should numb and even if it doesnt you might getta good buzz...(if you do it long enuff) hehe.
good luck 2 you :)

Reply:NOOOO! Dont put aspirin on your gums! It burns your gums and makes it worse! The only thing really is that you need an antibiotic... you can wait untill it passes but it will just keep coming back. You need proper attention to your tooth. Also I know of 2 people who have passed away cause from a really bad abscess! Please be careful!
Reply:My home remedy is to always keep a tube of 'ORAGEL' in my purse and at home. It numbs the tooth and gum line. If you try the aspirin, it might work for a while, but can irritate the gum. Don't try anbesol.... it makes your gums sore and slough away from the tooth. Goood luck!.

i got this bad toothache! ..it started on the weekend, about saturday. and i didnt do nothing about it until monday .. went to my dentist and he did 5 fillings that day. 2 at the top [at the back] and 3 at the bottom [at the back] on my left side. and when i got back home it still killed me, i didnt even sleep that night. i was almost crying all day. so i went back on tuesday [yesterday] and this other dentist told me how my fillings were too high that he was going to drill it down. so he did; but he didnt even use a needle! so it killled me! ..and he told me that it would go away ... but now its tuesday night / wednesday morning 5:01AM and i am still dying!! ..i tried everything. cold water towel, advil, advil extra strength, tynoel, tynoel extra strength, tynoel 3, clove oil, EVERYTHING! and it wont go away!!! i dont know what to do - i feel like im dying. does anybody have any suggestions on what to do next? please! ='( ='(

Go to the emergency dental hospital and get them to take that sucker out! Toothache is one of the worst pains in the world. I would also sue your Dentist, I have never heard of ANY serious dental work such as this being undertaken where they didn't numb you first.

What do you do for a toothache until you can get to the dintist. the person has already taken asprin
Toothache!!?
You can take advil or other anti-inflammatory medicines. Also, they sell something at most drug stores that is a temporary filling you can put on a cavity. But truth be told, a toothache is only going to get worse, and the longer you put it off, the worse it can be to get it fixed.
Reply:Try baby teething gel that you can get from any supermarket, works a treat, and it works almost instantly.
Reply:There is a medicine that will numb the tooth. You can get those at the stores.

Oh . . . we're not giving shout-outs to random maladies? ;)
Seriously, though, I think you're in need of an English teacher more than a dentist! And good thing you're not in so much pain that you were able to take the time to write a question on this website, rather than surf the web for possible solutions, which would have been much faster and sensible, eh? ;)

Is there any thing to take or do for a MAJOR toothache. Yesterday I cracked my tooth and its bleeding off and on. My dentist isnt open on the weekends so I have to wait until Monday. But I have tried Orajel and that only works for a little bit.. Any suggestions that will last longer than an hour!?
Toothache?
your best bet would be to take Ibuprofen (motrin) 600 mg, so three of the 200 pills, every four hours, so dont exceed 2400 mg a day. if the pain is unbearable, or you swell up then your local emegency room, hopefully if there is an oral surgeon or dentist on call.

Reply:Oil of clove might work, but if orajel is not doing it for you then you could be in for a long weekend. Isn't there an emergency dentist you could see?
Reply:there is this stuff called den temp at walmart that is really good...it's like putty and it hardens within an hour, you put it on the broke part and it helps keep air and food out, which will probably stop it from hurting....i hope this helps.
Reply:Other than an over the counter pain reliever,
maybe Anbesol?
Reply:clove oil will numb it better then any orajel. Soak a q-tip in it then apply to the tooth. It will last for an hour or more. Take some Ibuprofen or tylenol and avoid cold food and drinks.
Reply:I'm a guy, and i've cried before from the pain of toothaches. The only relief you'll get at home is from orajel, or getting hammered, if even.
But if it's really severe like you say.You can only go to a clinic and ask for a novacaine injection.I'm sorry for your pain.
Reply:If you live near the mexican border, go to the pharmacy and buy some trammadol, also known as trexol, ultram and a few other names i dont remember. Costs about 30 bucks for 50 tablets. Take two, (it takes about 45 min for them to work) and you wont feel any pain for 4 to 6 hours.
Warning: it MAY give you a bit of a headache the next day, and the only way to cure it is take more trammodol, or take like 4 motrins
Reply:Go to emergency, they have dentist on call there.

Toothache?!?
I have a very bad toothache. I can not get in to see a dentist until next week. Is there anything that I can do? I am taking plenty of OTC meds, alieve, tylenol, motrin. Using ice packs, salt water.. Coulk the ER pull a tooth.
Toothache?!?
I reccomend using a hot compress (in addition to non aspirin meds) rather than an ice pack. Ice is for swelling and heat is for soothing away pain. Secondly, just waite for the dental appointment. Extraction is last resort. Cause then you have to get a bridge and those are weeker and more expensive than a root canal therapy and crown together. GOOD LUCK!
Reply:Oil of cloves ( if you can get it !) Put a couple of drops on the offending tooth.
Reply:I suppose it's possible you could get it pulled in the ER - at the very least, maybe they'll give you some painkillers to get by.
In the meantime, put an aspirin on the side that hurts - just grip it steady with your jaws til it dissoves. Tastes awful, but offers a bit of a numbing effect.
Reply:use ambesol
Reply:Sorry, that you feel terrible..... That is one of the worst type of ailment...for sure. Be careful with the OTC med that you are taking. Motrin...every 6-8hrs, Tylenol every 4-6hrs. The ER will not extract a tooth, generally. They can give you some ANTIBIOTICS. Cavities don't ache....Infected teeth do.... Once the antibiotics kick in then you will feel a ot better. If you can endure until the am maybe the dentist that you are scheduled to see can call you in some antibiotics and some 800mg Motrin or Loratab. I hope that you feel better soon.... you may want to get some DIFLUCAN called in with the antibiotic, a common side effect for women is yeast infection. Eat yogurt with live cultures i.e Activia, Dan Active, etc.,... Antibiotics effect you digestive system by killing most bacteria, even the "good type" that breaks down your food, processes nutrients, and assimilates "stool". Good Luck going forward
Reply:In addition to using the pain medication of your choice, sleep on an extra pillow to elevate your head. Sleep on the side that does NOT have a toothache. If that doesn't work, you can move to a recliner or the sofa so you can keep your head really elevated. This will minimize the blood flow to the area and therefore minimize the throbbing and pain. This might help you make it through the night until you can see a dentist.
Reply:get some oil of oregano at a health food store...mix a couple of drops in small glass of water and then put that in your mouth...youll be amazed what that will do.
Reply:Try not to lie flat, keep upright
IF THERES ANY FACIAL SWELLING then you should go straight to the dentist!
Reply:An abscess or crack in tooth is more likely cause for your pain. It is better you slow down on the OTC meds as due to their side effects you may end up doing additional harm elsewhere in the body. Home remedies are safer, like boiling two cloves in a cup of water for 2-3 minutes and when luke warm put half teaspoon of table salt (preferably rock salt) and swish and gargle. Good luck.

Any suggestions on severe toothache besides going to the dentist to get it pulled?
Toothache!?
I don't know of anything garanteed to work short of havin it pulled.
Reply:buy some oil of cloves from health food store. Put some on cotton wool and hold it against the tooth or bite down if its a molar. Ibuprofen and paracetacol 3-4 times a day
Reply:nope. oral gel will numb it for a little while but the pain does come back!
Reply:Try bonjela gel
Reply:Use Clove oil or eat some Ice
Reply:take some aspirin and try some ora-gel
go to a dentist, why risk infection
Reply:Well, if its too bad you may need a root canal, but they can be expensive. If its a back tooth i would suggest getting it pulled much cheaper and not noticable. But hold ice outside the cheek where the tooth is located to deaden the pain the nerve is giving off. Also any type off Ibuprofen 200mg take about 4. Every 4hours. Or you can use ambesol and soak a cotton ball in it then apply it to the side of the gum next to the tooth and leave it there, that should help deaden tha pain. Well i hope you feel better :(
Reply:A few drops of tea tree essential oil can be infused in water. Cleansing the mouth with this solution can give rapid relief to inflamed gums. It is a very potent antibacterial.
Reply:stop chocolate ,other sweates%26amp; cold water.
Reply:Had Route canal on Tuesday morning. Suprise my whole jaw on my left hand side now hurts. I am going back this afternoon for him to have another look. So avoid route canal and have it pulled.
Reply:I just went through this a few days ago. I was away when the toothache started (Saturday) and couldn't get to a dentist until Monday. I don't know if it will work for you, but it did for me.
I had a bottle of water on the (room temperature) cool side (not cold) and I let the water rest on the tooth for a few minutes. Wow, it worked, but I had to repeat that a few times. The pain stopped for awhile, but of course every time it returned, I did it again. Well, I made it through the weekend, with my pain under control and Monday I had the tooth pulled. The funny thing is, this was a cold sensitive tooth. But the pain was so bad, that the cold interrupted the tooth pain and it seems the tooth focused on that rather than the tooth ache.

whats a good way to get rid of a toothache?
Toothache...?
The best thing to do is take 800 mg of Ibuprofen which is prescription strength. It has an anti-inflammatory in it so it's going to work better than Tylenol or aspirin. To completely take care of the problem, you're going to need to see your dentist as soon as possible.

Reply:1.Take goa tree leaves and chew for some times.
2.Take (hot)warm water and add salt then goggle.
3.Use neem stick to tooth brush in morning.
Theses are traditional things which i had learnt from my grand parents
Reply:I used to have some very painfull teeth. The only thing that would ever help is 4 or 5 Advil. Even that only took the edge off. The only thing that will truely help you is a dentist. Just call the dentist and get it over with. You can do it!!! :)

Reply:Oil of cloves can be purcased in any drug store or try hot packing it to ease the pain. Salt, heated in a pan and wrapped in a dish towel makes a nice hot pack.
Reply:-Mix asafoetida with lemon juice and slightly heat it. Soak a cotton swab in this mixture and place it in the tooth cavity which will relieve pain quickly.
-Apply a little tea tree oil or clove oil at the site of pain using cotton swab.
Reply:There is some kind of ointment called Hurricane. It numbs anything part of the body that you applpy it to. That helps... Or you can try Motrin or even Benadryl. Mouth pain sucks..Good Luck!
Reply:What ever you do, do not put an aspirin on the tooth; it will cause a burn of the tissue and then you will have a worse problem. You could try Ambusol for some temporary relief, but finding a DDS would be the best bet.
Reply:SCOTCH WHISKY seriously. Swill the whisky round the sore tooth. Repeat as necessary. Whisky is brilliant for this, honest.
Eventually a blessed sleep will overcome the sufferer.
Reply:soak a flannel in water. put a few drops of brandy / whisky on it. microwave on full power for one minute. take out and roll it up. bite gently on flannel...it does help
Reply:CRACK...no seriously....crack...coke....and mary jane....the fastest working things on this planet....y do u think its illegal
Reply:Spirit - No not white spirits, but vodka, brandy or whisky. Something strong. Gargle it and it will completely numb the pain, its very effective!
Reply:dissolvable aspirin -hold in your mouth for several minutes (after disolving in water). It will ease the pain - but leave a not nice taste.
Reply:If you have some Whisky or Vodka apparently that works! Just dip a cotton bud in the alcohol and place the bud on the tooth (by the gumline) that is causing pain!

Reply:Home remedies are crap they may seem as though they help but are more then likely doing more harm them good as most of the ones I've seen use ingredients full of acids which will only cause damage. Ibuprofen is good for dental pain you must have some in your medicine cabinet if not then any other pain killer will do, the only way to sort it permanently is to see the Dentist, painkillers is only a temporary option.

Reply:I think the best thing is togo to the dentist.

by take suitable precautions. Avoid eating
food which will result in the formation of acid
in the mouth, brush teeth regularly with a fluoride
toothpaste. I found the information at

Toothache?
Does anybody know how to soothe a serious toothache? it has been troubling me for almost a week now.
Toothache?
Toothache or shall we say strange pain on one of your teeth or the gum-line is usually the starting point of severe or worst dental problems. Aside from giving you sleepless nights of painful miseries and difficult chewing, it could actually threaten your health. Before it's too late, get dental health care advices and solutions at http://www.themouthdoctor.com/dentalheal... and free yourself from the dangers of dental problems.
Reply:The only thing that worked for me was codeine based pills.
Reply:There's absolutely no need to suffer from toothache for so long. Visit a dentist as soon as possible.
Reply:drink your piss, seriously. do it.

Toothache.....?
i went to a dentist for toothache...he suggested to undergo root canal treatment and gave some antibiotics and pain medications...after which the pain decreased now after one month i started to get pain back in that tooth with a bubble like thing in the gum which pains....but that bubble like thing decreases in size with hot water rinse...how long is it poosible to stay without undergoing root canal treatment....plz give ur suggestion....
Toothache.....?
The faster you get the root canal the better. What you have is a draining abscess, and the hole is called a fistula. The long term problems encountered when not treating something like this is low grade gradual bone loss around the roots. If left untreated it can spread an involve more teeth. Obviously haveing any kind of low grade infection you risk a severe flare up when you are weak or tired. At its worst you have a very low risk of developing a cyst or bone tumor.
Get it treated.
Reply:ask your dentist..
Reply:My suggestion is to go back to the dentist %26amp; have the root canal. It sounds like you have an infection that isn't clearing up on it's own.'
Reply:that bubble thing is probably infection, gargle saltwater for that, it usually makes it go away. but Id get to the doctor as soon as I could,, if its bad enough for a root canal, it will only get worse until your head feels like its gonna blow off, but I had a root canal years ago, and eventually ended up having to have the thing pulled anyhow. So if your needing to save money and time and dont care if you lose the tooth or not, id just go ahead and to get them to pull it!
Reply:I wouldn't recommend waiting. If he gave you antibiotics, it's because you had an infection in that tooth. If that infection is still hanging around, those poisons could get into your bloodstream and kill you. You need to get it taken care of.
Reply:Try hotwater with some salt and if it does not help please consult a dentist.
Reply:Go to the dentist--sissy!!!they can fix it in about an hour and yu will be pain free!!!if its shots or just nerves, they can help there too! I have had root canals done and it is not a bad experience if your dentist is a goooood dentist, most are!that pustule on your gum is infection from the tooth and will keep coming back, and it can spread to your jaw bone or other tissue so grab your butt and get up and go!!to the tooth dr!!
Reply:The bubble is an abcess or infection bubble filled with pus and blood. Get back to the dentist right away. The longer you wait the more damage to your mouth and he may have to go deeper into the bone. If an infection is present the novacaine will not take hold because it can't get through the infection.
Reply:whenever you eat brush your teeth, esp before going bed,and use Listerine(green color)mouthwash, before mouthwash do flack.after a day you feel the difference.try this its a good thing.
Reply:You should have kept the appt to have the root canal, or either you could have had the tooth pulled...it seems like the infection is back, since the "bubble" is a cyst full of pus (infection)...you will have to take another round of antibiotics before anything is done, because the dentist cannot pull or do a root canal with infection present..you will also have pain, as long as infection is present, it causes swelling, which presses against the nerves in your gums...get checked again, get more antibiotics, and go to your next appt on time.
Reply:ok
Reply:the bubble is actually is the infection overflown and accumulated around the tooth(abscess).mediction is only temporary tretment, permanent treatment is rootcanal treatment.hot water rinses just drain the infection present in the gums but does not remove the source of infection which is located in the tooth.if u still delay, progresively ur tooth wil become losse and should be pulled off.so take care.
Reply:When the hot water finally stops working for you, you're gonna have the mother of all toothaches and it will make your initial problem seem like a walk in the park. Either get the nerve taken out or get the tooth taken out before the infection spreads enough to cause you all that pain.
Your home remedy might work for another day or it might work for another month and NOBODY here can tell you when it will stop working. Nobody.
Reply:swish some lemon extract in your mouth. If that dont cure it than you might as well head back to the dentist.

Toothache?
I have what seems to be a toothache on my front tooth? It comes and goes and randomly the pain is dull to agonizingly bad (like right now). However, when I apply pressure to the tooth (i.e clenching my teeth or biting into something hard), the pain subsides for a few seconds?
Is that normal and is it anything to be all that worried about?
And please home remedies, I haven't been to a dentist for at least four or five years and I'm having the most difficult time trying to get an appointment with any place.
Toothache?
You can get in right away to see a dentist if it's an emergency. When the tooth hurts, it qualifies as an emergency. Most likely there is an infection in your tooth's nerve canal. When you put pressure on the tooth, it may be that you take the pressure away from where it hurts, if only for a few seconds.
Home remedies -- depending on how bad it is, of course, I think that anything short of Novocaine just prolongs the agony. Prescription medicine such as Vicodin may help some, but it's sort of a Catch-22. You need a dentist to prescribe you some. Taking a large dose of over the counter ibuprofen like Advil would be the next best thing.
Reply:better go see a dentist
Reply:hot water and salt in the month for few mins
Reply:you haven't made a visit to the dentist for quite awhile,
there's your problem
Reply:Sounds like you could have an infection, If i were you i would go and see the dentist as an emergency patient, there is nothing worse than tooth ache so i really do feel your pain.
Reply:Clove oil or put a clove in your mouth ,it tastes horrible ---but good-bye tooth ache.
Reply:You have two options. One: buy oral gel from the store and keep applying for quick pain relief. If you do it enough...eventually the oral gel will numb and kill the nerve and your front tooth will just decay until you can buy a fake porcelin one. Or, two: get super drunk and pull it out yourself.
Reply:Yes, it is normal for pressure to ease pain temporarily. There is more than likely some infection in there which will require a dentist. In the meanwhile, you may try flossing the area and flushing it with warm salt water. Sometimes that will help the pain ease back temporarily. You do need to get antibiotics as well. A dentist will be required to permanantly solve your problem. Now you know why they used to "Bite the Bullet!"
Reply:Go to your local drugstore and get Orjel, I think thats how you spell it....anyway, if you see something spelled along the line like that, get it. Then, apply a little bit to your tooth, but, not too much because if you do, then you'll end up not being able to feel any thing involving the mouth area, trust me, I did that once and I couldn't drink or eat anything until it wasn't numb anymore because I couldn't taste anything that went into my mouth and it would end up falling out of my mouth.

Toothache..?
OK, I have this toothache- Nothing helps!! Ive tried Listerine, warm salt water, Ora-Gel, off brand stuff like ora-gel, asprin, tylonal extra strength, brushing it, sleeping it off... NOTHING is helping and it hurts so bad! Its keeping me up at night and bringing me to tears. I cant get into the Dentist until I talk to my mom about a payment method and she wont answer her phone.. What can I do at home to help it?? Please, please help me
Toothache..?
Is their swelling occuring? If so, this tooth could be infected and needs help ASAP. Go to the emergency room just to be safe if pain persists, they will most certainly give you an antibiotic to keep the infection away and stop the tooth from hurting. Obviously something is wrong if it is hurting THIS bad. Contact a doctor or dentist ASAP.
Reply:Is it possible it isn't the tooth itself and more of a sinus problem?
I have had chronic sinus pain in the past and at times my back teeth or even just one back tooth has hurt like crazy! Turns out it was due to sinuses.
Try this test - lean down and touch your toes for a few seconds. Kind of let your head hang down. If it is sinuses this would cause more pressure in your head and should give you a small head ache.
Another time one of my front teeth hurt something awful. I was so worried. I HATE the dentist. Turns out it was also sinus pain.
Try taking some SUDAFED. You can also try like Tylonal Sinus. This will help ease the pressure. If it works it is your sinuses.
Also are friendly with your dentist? I have known mine over 15yrs and he is the kind who will see you right away and they bill you so you don't have to pay ASAP. Go ahead and call most dentist hate to know someone is in pay.
Hope this helps. I'd rather give birth than see a dentist so I feel your pain.
Reply:-Apply a little tea tree oil or clove oil at the site of pain using cotton swab.
-Avoid drinking or eating anything very hot or very cold.
For more details see below source and also see dentist asap
Reply:Have it pulled dont fill it again just pull it.

Toothache???????????
I've got a toothache after a tooth and an abcsess have been taken out, any thing i can do to stop the pain
Toothache???????????
take painkillers
Reply:Depends how old you are.
If you are an adult, take 400mg ibuprofen every 4 hours, and co-codamol every 4 hours as well. take the ibuprofen first, then the co-codamol 2 hours later so you alternate tablets every 2 hours. make sure you read the lables on both lots to make sure you can take them.
Only take ibuprofen if you dont have asthma, stomach problems like an ulcer or high blood pressure. Also, co-codamol can constipate you a bit, so be warned.
Both taken in conjuction with each other are a very effective way of dealing with toothache, good luck!
If you are a child, check with your mum, Im sure she has some kids paracetamol or ibuprofen in the house.

Reply:Oil of cloves would really help a lot ,you put it on a small ball of cotton wool and place it on the tooth,
You can buy it in a chemist or try nurofen that should help even a warm cloth placed on your cheek helps a bit
Reply:take tynelo every 4-6 hours for pain
Reply:I heard of a case where a man thought he had toothache, BUT after having teeth removed the pain remained.
His doctor later diagnosed sinus pains which can refer pain to the gum line.
Reply:If you had a dental abcsess then your dentist should probably have given you an antibiotic to take at some stage. Or they may have decided to extract the tooth to allow for drainage of the abcsess - either way your pain might not be alleviated for at least 2 to 3 days.
The analgsia regime advised by the pharmacist will def help in the mean time! If no real progress is made - go back to your dentist.
Reply:when i was 20 i had a really bad tooth ache, it was new years eve and i went to emergency dentist and had root filling with temporary dressing. it was awful. i got brufen from chemist. that didnt do much so at four in the afternoon started drinking special brew, went to the pub at 7pm, drunk tons of lager, none of this worked, started to drink treble woods rums as these were the strongest drink in the pub, last thing i remember was asking a total stranger if he would punch me in the jaw on the other side to take my mind off the tooth. he didnt, i blacked out. Sorry not good answer but crazy memory, thanks for helping me to remember why i dont drink alcohol any more!
Reply:This sounds like 'dry socket', a condition where the nerves and bone are exposed and become extrmely painful.
Get to your dentist as soon as possible.
I can tell you how to get rid of the pain until you get help. The hint comes from a Chinese-Canadian dentist who uses the method instead of freezing for all dental work.
Pinch the earlobe on the side where the pain is and it will disappear within 10 minutes. (The dentist attaches a clothes peg to the earlobe.) A tight-fitting clip-on earring will also do the trick. It has to be tight, and it has to be continuous.
Acupuncture in the same spot would help, too, of course.

Toothache!!??
i have a toothache on one of my lower molars... it hurts.. and at school i cant concentrate sometimes coz it hurts-it really wouldnt have mattered if we didnt have such a strict teacher for math,anyway-i take panadol to ease the pain, but it doesnt work.. any home remedies??
and one of my other teeth on the upper left side-a bit of that has broken-i dont know why..

Toothache!!??
If you're over the age of 12 (before which you shouldn't use aspirin due to the risk of Reye's disease) you can make a paste using aspirin and spread it on the sore bit (trying not to taste it because it doesn't taste very nice).
In terms of tooth care, the basic message is avoid substances that harm your teeth (for example, sugars and carbonated drinks) and if you do eat or drink acidic substances, rinse with water and wait prior to brushing your teeth (eg if you have a glass of orange juice, don't brush immediately). Make sure you brush and floss after each meal and have regular dental checkups.
If you've got a broken tooth, it's safest to see a dentist and either have it repaired or extracted.

Reply:Toothaches are the worst..I'd rather give birth.. the best way I found to get rid of the pain is to get a soluble Disprin Tablet (the ones you dissolve in water) the brand is called Disprin Max..Instead of dissolving it place it between your teeth and let it dissolve in your mouth, or you can dissolve it in a small amount of water and hold the water in your mouth for a few minutes, then swallow, this will help the pain.. Another method would be to get some liquid paracetamol put it into a medicine dispenser (like a syringe) and squirt it into your tooth..Direct contact with these pain killers is the best way to relieve the pain...Old wives tales say that if you put a dried clove onto the tooth and hold it there that it will take the pain away, I tried this once and had a terrible taste left in my mouth and the pain was still there.. If these methods don't work, then you might just have to bite the bullet (mind the pun) and head off to the dentist...
Good Luck and I hope you are pain free soon
Reply:your bottom molar may be abscessed which means an infection. You will need antibiotics to get rid of the infection which will relieve the pain, but it needs to be taken care of otherwise it can make you very sick, as for the broken tooth dentist can fix that easily, and it will look like new again.
Watch out using oragel type pain meds, using too much can upset your stomach.

Toothache!!?
I have a toothache in a back bottom tooth. What can I do to help alieve the pain? I have taken Ibprofen, alieve, tylenol, excedrin, and asprin. My tooth is not absessed. I think the gums are swollen. Also, I have an earache on the same side. Could it be that both are hurting each other or is one causing the other? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Reply:Well It may well be that you have an infection that is causing both of them, but for your tooth I suggest rinsing with warm salt water. My dad is a dentist so I know a little about teeth. Next, if the pain doesn't subside within a few days, or it gets substantially worse, please please please see someone about it. Sometimes infections in the teeth can cause serious problems.
Reply:Yes, it's possible that one is hurting the other. That area of your face is all connected.
My husband gets toothaches, and refuses to see a dentist so I had no choice but to find ways to help him alleviate his pain. One thing he does is swish the area with warm salt water. Not just a little bit here and there, but seriously he stands in the bathroom for like 10 minutes at a time and swishes and swishes until he can tell the pain is going away. He also uses quite salty water. There were a few times that the pain was so bad he simply wet his finger and rubbed the salt all around his tooth and just kept doing that.
There are alot of times that medicines won't work - sometimes it's best to just go back to nature and use a more natural cure.
Reply:Well, of course you should call your dentist, but in the meantime to relive the pain, bite down lightly on a warm, wet teabag. Something about the tannic acid in the tea takes care of the pain temporarily.
Reply:A tooth will cause pain into the ear, wisdom teeth are famous for it. You need antibiotics. Call your dentist and let him know you need to see him immediately. It is only going to get worse.
Reply:Well, if the gums are swollen and your ear hurts it is my guess that it is infected. I would recc. going to the dentist to get it examined and to take an x-ray it will show if it is infected and if there is any decay or cracks. If it is infected the only thing that is gonna help is antibiotics. But to answer your question in general, ibprofen is the best thing for any type of dental pain, you can take up to 800mg every 6hrs, thats four over the counter 200mg tablets per every 6hours and apply heat to the area to help circulate blood and to remove the infection faster. Hope this helps you out....

Oil of clover works very well, dabbed on with some cotton wool, but the best thing (if you can get it) is an orgasm. Although it might be really hard to get in the mood, when you have an orgasm (the stronger the better) the intense waves of pleasure/blood rush seem to counter-act the awful pain. I keep getting toothache at the moment, but unfortunately sex is the last thing on my husband's mind.

Reply:Toothache or tooth pain is caused when the nerve root of a tooth is irritated. Dental (tooth) infection, decay, injury, or loss of a tooth are the most common causes of dental pain. Pain may also occur after an extraction (tooth is pulled out). Pain sometimes originates from other areas and radiates to the jaw, thus appearing to be tooth pain. The most common areas include the jaw joint (temporomandibular joint or TMJ), ear pain, and even occasional heart problems.
* Bacteria growing inside your mouth can contribute to gum disease, plaque, and dental decay. These problems can become painful. The cause and prevention of dental disease has been well investigated.
* You can prevent the majority of dental problems through flossing, brushing with fluoride toothpaste, and having your teeth professionally cleaned twice a year. The dentist may apply sealants and fluoride, which are especially important in children.
Toothache occurs from inflammation of the central portion of the tooth called pulp. The pulp contains nerve endings that are very sensitive to pain. Inflammation to the pulp or pulpitis may be caused by dental cavities, trauma, and infection. Referred pain from the jaw may cause you to have symptoms of toothache.
Toothache and jaw pain are common complaints. There may be severe pain to pressure, or to hot or cold stimuli. The pain may persist for longer than 15 seconds after the stimulus is removed. As the area of inflammation increases, the pain becomes more severe. It may radiate to the cheek, the ear, or the jaw. Other signs and symptoms that may lead you to seek care include the following:
* Pain with chewing
* Hot or cold sensitivity
* Bleeding or discharge from around a tooth or gums
* Swelling around a tooth or swelling of your jaw
* Injury or trauma to the area
* These signs and symptoms may sometimes be associated with dental decay or gum disease (periodontal disease). Dental decay or an area of redness around the tooth's gum line may point to the source of pain. If you tap an infected tooth, it may make the pain more intense. This sign may point to the problem tooth even if the tooth appears normal.
* A toothache needs to be differentiated from other sources of pain in the face. Sinusitis, ear or throat pain, or an injury to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) that attaches the jaw to the skull may be confused with toothache. Pain from a deeper structure (called referred pain) may be passed along the nerve and be felt in the jaw or tooth. In order to pinpoint the source of the pain and get relief, call your dentist or doctor.
You should call your doctor or dentist for advice for the following concerns:
* Dental pain may not be relieved by over-the-counter medications.
* You may experience severe pain after a tooth is pulled. This may occur on the second or third day after tooth extraction. This is a result of the tooth socket being exposed to air. The condition is known as "dry socket syndrome." If you develop this condition, you should see a dentist within 24 hours.
* Pain may be associated with swelling of the gums or face, or you may have discharge around a tooth. Fever is an important sign of infection in dental disease. Simple dental decay (caries) does not cause fever. These signs may signify an infection surrounding the tooth, the gum, or the jaw bone (mandible). Fever and swelling may indicate the presence of an abscess. Dental abscesses may require antibiotics and surgical opening (drainage) of the abscess. When this procedure is recommended to be done inside the tooth (endodontic drainage), a "root canal" is performed.
* Broken or knocked-out teeth may occur from an injury. Unless associated with more severe injuries, your dentist should be contacted as soon as possible. Swallowed teeth and permanent tooth loss are considered dental emergencies. Tooth loss due to injury (traumatic loss) is cared for differently in children who have lost their primary teeth than for older children and adults with injury to their secondary teeth.
* Pain may be present at the angle of your jaw. If every time you open your mouth widely you have pain, it is likely that the temporomandibular (TMJ) joint has been injured or inflamed. This can occur from an injury or just by trying to eat something that is too big. Your dentist may be able to suggest solutions to this problem.
* Wisdom teeth can cause pain. As wisdom teeth (molars) are coming out, they cause inflammation of the gum around the erupted crown. The gum overlying the crown may become infected. The tooth most commonly involved is the lower third molar. The pain may extend to the jaw and ear. There may be swelling in the affected area so that the jaw cannot be closed properly. In severe cases, pain in the throat and the floor of the mouth may make it difficult to swallow.

Toothache?
I'm currently having a toothache on my lower molar. It really hurts and I've had problems with it before and it's already been filled. I remember eating candy before it started though and I can't see a dentist about this because I'm in another city right now. I tried drinking meds but if I have to take 2 (after another hour) just to feel the meds working, which kinda makes me a bit loopy. Any home treatments?
Toothache?
I have had my share of tooth aches. This is what I done to relieve the pain. I would take a shot of whiskey and hold it in my mouth as long as I could. If you taking med best not swallow it. It would stop the pain for a couple of hours then I would do it again. You probably have a abscess since the pain is so bad. You need to call your dentist and have them to call you in some antibiotics to fight the infection. He cannot do anything to it until that is taken care of anyway. But the whiskey will help numb you until you can do better.
Reply:stay away from candy...drink plenty of water and healthy food. I still say see a dentist though trust me I'm adental student I should know! Take Care and Good Luck

After every meal, chew a little salt and gargle with water. Soft brush can be used to clean the particles caught between the teeth and the gums. Make it habit to clean the teeth every morning and before retiring to bed. In India, people use thin twig of a Babul, Banyan or a Neem tree (known as Datoon) as a brush. First it is to be crushed to make it soft and then use it like a brush. It is advisable to us a Datoon of Babul, Banyan or Neem tree at least once a day.
It is reported by experienced dentists that tooth pastes available in the marked are not much effective. Instead, the following tooth powder or paste which can be easily made at home has been found quite useful for the care of gums and teeth :
1. Tooth Powder : Mixture of finely ground alum powder 40% and rock salt or regular salt powder 60%. For better results, a few drops of lemon may be added. In case of dental problems, adding a little of 'Sudarshan' (a bitter Ayrvedic powder is also recommended.
2. Tooth-paste : For dental problems like bleeding, pyorrhoea, toothache, gingivitis, etc. make a paste of
50% alum powder
10% rock salt or table salt powder
10% Sudarshan powder (an Ayurvedic preparation)
15% edible oil (unrefined)
10% glycerine tanic acid
5% camphor.
The paste made of this mixture can be massaged on the teeth and gums in the morning and evening with fingers. It ca be packed in collapsible tubes/jars and used, as tooth-paste.
3. Even massaging the gums with a mixture of 70% unrefined edible oil (seasame or groundnut or coconut), 15% glycerine tanic acid and 15% fine powder of rock salt or table salt is useful for good, healthy teeth and gums. Make it a daily habit. Please not that healthy gums are more useful than sparkling white teeth.
4. Mouth Freshener : Gargling with a lemon juice mixed with lukewarm water, freshens the mouth. Take a quarter of a lemon, massage it on teeth and gums and then gargle with water. Even chewing of mango, tulsi or betel leaves after meals is good, and so it is advised in India.
5. Exercises for teeth : Keep the lips closed. Pound the upper teeth on lower teeth for 30 to 40 times twice a day. Then massage the saliva on gums with the tongue. That will ensure proper blood circulation in teeth and increase the life of healthy teeth and gums.
Reply:You might try ice, to the side of the face where the affected tooth is to help bring down the inflamation. Orajel helps numb everything.
Having said that, you may have an abcessed tooth, and it will not get better without treatment. so you might as well make a Dental appointment when u get home. Or if it gets too bad, seek out a Dentist where you are now. They may want to send you to a Root canal specialist, ar an oral surgeon to remove it.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Toothache?
I've had mild toothache(s) for the past couple days. Doesn't really bother me much, just feels kind of weird. Doesn't bother me to eat at all, even sweets and cold stuff. Thing is, I can feel it on both sides of my mouth, almost like the same tooth but opposite sides. When I clench my teeth together, I wouldn't say it hurts, I just feel the weird feeling more. Any idea what it could be?

Have your wisdom teeth come in yet?
Maybe your existing teeth are shifting to make room for them and that's where the discomfort is coming from.
Reply:no idea what it could be, go c a dentist.
Reply:Is it your jaw? I have TMJ. It could be that, contact the dentist.
Reply:for toothache, just have some cloves handy and eat them when it pains. its kinda hot, but it gives u some relief
Reply:tie a piece of cord on the teth tie the other end to the door n slam it that always work

Toothache!?
A few months ago i got a deep cavity filled and my dentist told me to watch the tooth cause i might need a root canal later on
so since wednesday i've had a bad toothache on wed, thur, and fri it hurt constantly now the pain is less and it only hurts really bad when i touch it. and wierd but i can feel my heart beating from in my tooth
ive been calling my dentist but no answer so i left a message but still haven't heard anything
how bad is it to ignore a toothache like this?
and what can i do for the pain?
Toothache!?
When you have an abscess (from an infected/dying nerve) you get a "bubble" on your gums. The infection is trying to escape the tooth but has no where to go ... that is why it hurts so bad to pressure. So, this infection will find the path of least resistance which is usually a "bubble" on your gums near the tip of the root of the tooth. While you have this bubble... the ache will be SEVERE. When the "bubble" pops and the infection drains then the tooth is less tender. But then the whole process starts again. Usually you will not know when the abscess drains. Maybe this is why you are in less pain right now... Needless to say, visit your dentist ASAP... and take ibuprofen for the inflammation.
Reply:Sounds like you need root therapy. Take ibuprofen to relieve the pain and call your dentist first thing in the morning. Do not ignore this!!!
Reply:Keep trying to contact your dentist. If no luck you could resort to the hospital ER to at least start a regimen of antibiotics. You can take anti-inflammatories like aspirin or Motrin to ease the discomfort. Good Luck
Reply:For re leave take one shot of Brandy and hold it in the area of the tooth for a while Don't swallow ,,,,, till you can get to the Dentist it take about 3 to 4 minutes to start to feel better
Reply:Go to the Pharmacy some where and ask the Pharmacist about that, they might have something for you..... And try not to eat anything hard or sweets, sweets are bad for you and junk food, dont eat things like that, that will only make your tooth hurt more
Reply:Put some toothpaste on the tooth for a few minutes or use a Fluoride rinse. Wait a few days.
Reply:Toothache or shall we say strange pain on one of your teeth or the gum-line is usually the starting point of severe or worst dental problems. Aside from giving you sleepless nights of painful miseries and difficult chewing, it could actually threaten your health. Before it's too late, get dental health care advices and solutions at http://www.themouthdoctor.com/dentalheal... and free yourself from the dangers of dental problems.

Toothache?
I have a bad toothache, it just started today, but it's a tooth that has bothered me before. I know it has a big hole in it, I can feel it. How do I subdue the pain until I can go to the dentist? I have to find a dentist to go to so I'm not sure how long it'll be before I can go. So, other than pills, is there a way to ease the pain? (Aren't toothaches the worst??? I hate them...)

Is my toothache a cavity or a result of Crest Whitestripes?
My farthest right tooth of my four front teeth has been aching like crazy for about a day now. I know, it's only been a day, however, I'm concerned for the following reasons:
1. There is a weird spot to the corner (touching one of my two front teeth) that looks like decay/a cavity, however, my dentist told me it wasn't a cavity.
2. I've been using Crest Whitestripes for the past six days and the instructions inside say that some people experience tooth sensitivity when using the product, however, if this is true, why is only one tooth?
I've been using a toothache relief cream to stop the pain as well. And I've been wearing a retainer at night for the past three years.
Please help!
Is my toothache a cavity? Should I book an appointment with my dentist?
OR
Is it a temporary result of my Crest Whitestripes? Should I just wait it out?
Is my toothache a cavity or a result of Crest Whitestripes?
It could be because of the whitestrips. Stop using it for about a week and it should go away. Mines go away with 2 days. If it doesn't I would see the dentist again. Good luck!
Reply:sometimes i've noticed they've cause tooth sensitivity with me. Try not using them so much, maybe like every other day instead of every day, and make sure you're leaving them on for the right amout of time.
Reply:tooth whiteners, even those in toothpaste are known to cause sensitivity in teeth. Try switching to Sensodyne toothpaste for a month and see if it goes away. If its still sensitive then see your dentist. You will have to stop the whitestrips during the testing period as well to rule them in or out as the cause.
Reply:can be a can be a cavity check with your d.d.s., try using some sensodyne toothpaste. whitening wears off your tooth enamel which makes your teeth sensitive and weaker
Reply:It's definitely the white strips...I used them, and they hurt my teeth/gums too. They are actually not good for your teeth in the long run b/c the harsh whitening chemicals in them eat away at your enamel. just try naturally whitening your teeth

Got a toothache out of nowhere, is it because I'm sick?
Hiya,
I recently woke up in the middle of the night about 2 days ago with a slamming toothache. I think its coming from the top teeth but to tell you the truth I have a hard time telling. I've been sick for about 5 days with a cough, cold, headache, and soar throat. Could the toothache be brought on because I'm sick? I went to the dentist about 2 months ago and had no cavities since and I barely eat any sweets, and brush the hell out of them which is why I'm having a hard time figuring out why I got such pain so quickly. The pain goes off and on, I was wanting to wait until I feel better to make a dentist appointment if it is the case, but are there any tips to find out? should I get some nasal spray or see a doctor?
Got a toothache out of nowhere, is it because I'm sick?
It could be from being sick---particularly if there's a lot of congestion and pressure from the sinuses. It could be bruxism. It's also possible for an abcess to effect a tooth quickly and painfully (even though it's been brewing for a while beneath the gums). In any case, see your dentist if the symptoms don't subside with your congestion.
Reply:Its your glands! I get the same thing. Its just because your sick, when I get it its my jaw line. It will go away when your feeling better.
Reply:well, it could be, and couldn't. see a doctor/dentist about it.
Reply:i think you should put some pral gel and if the conditions still obtain then go see a dentist
Reply:The top teeth or maxillary teeth in the posterior region of the mouth are most often close to, or in the sinus. Therefore, any sinusitis or sinus infection may cause the teeth to hurt. Visit your dentist for evaluation and possible treatment with antibiotics.

Any ideas about this toothache?
This one is strange.
I have toothache that only comes on at night (after 11pm) its gone by morning and throughout the rest of the day. Its not in just one tooth, but all the teeth on my left side, both upper and lower (they seem to take turns in a game of See Who Can Cause The Most Pain), and then extends all the way upto (and incuding) my left ear. Its not constant, it will come and then completely go. No pain killers will work, but standing up stops the pain in seconds.
I have a histoy of toothache caused by sinusitis, but this doesnt feel like that, or any other toothache ive ever had. And it was proceeded by a week of strange sensations throughout my whole upper and lower jaw.
Any ideas about that cause?
I'v finally managed to get an apointment at the fang-quacks but its not untill tuesday. :(
Any ideas about this toothache?
I am not sure, but maybe an infection.
Reply:chew on cloves til your appointment.
can be that you need serious root canal work and/or have early onset periodontis (Causes by the sinusitis)(in which they'll probably all have to get pulled)
Or When I'm Sick My jaw aches sharply, but never small individual parts of it.
So just take neurofen %26amp; cloves till then.
Reply:u should go to the emergency room if its that bad. u might need those babies taken out.
Reply:Sounds like an infection... ear infection will make teeth feel like they are hurting.. gone unchecked it can actually put pressure on jaw and really hurt.
Reply:I have to same problem. I needed a filling as a nerve was showing.
Reply:Sounds like high blood pressure.
Reply:depending on your age it could be wisdom teeth popping through.
Reply:could it be TMJ
Reply:you might need a root canal... ask your dentist about that
Reply:I bet its the bone that is infected, then all your teeth will hurt too...
Reply:Your guess is as good as mine. I would almost think it is sinus because it ceases the minute you stand up. Try this...rinse your mouth out 3 to 4 times a day with salt water. Floss and brush twice, gently. Take some sinus meds before bed and see if any of that changes anything. DEF. keep that appoint on TUES. I had a friend who has something similar and it was a sinus infection. They had to make surgical incisions above her teeth and drain her sinuses. NOT fun, but it relieved the pain and she did go on and get better with antibiotics.
Reply:My concern is that can be a sign of a more serious condition. I don't know how old you are or what your general health, medical history.. etc. But do you have a family history of heart disease? It is rare but it was reported (this kind of jaw pain) with some heart issues. I hope you are healthy and well but you need this checked very carefully.
Reply:sounds like neuralgia to me. not nice ive had it . you may be sub conciously tense your jaw then as u wind down the ache icks in.
Reply:sounds like an infection I KNOW from experience....go to your dentist asap and get some AMOXICILLIN please..
Reply:I get exactly the same thing. Mine's due to indigestion, and a couple of rennies soon sorts it out.
Reply:Well I had a bad wisdom tooth and the problem is that the nerve is all connected, so your bottom jaw and top jaw can both have pain depending on the mood of your nerve. It made a different tooth feel like was the painful one and also a top one as you describe.
So you need to see a dentist who will charge you £30 to scan your mouth and identify fillings, then either fill the faulty one or if a wisdom recommend removed. Temp fill it till then.
DO IT NOW, is weak at the moment, why is sometimes painful and not others. Must be a gap. If it gets bigger you will know about it and may take a while to get seen. If is a real pain (no pun intended) go to the hospital and have them temporarily fix it for you.
I paid £100 to have the wisdom removed asap. I don't like waiting 9 months....

During the day, your energy levels and the fact that you are busy, keeps the pain at bay.
Later on, your energy levels drop and you notice the pain.
glad to hear you've got your appointment, he will probably drill it, and give you anti-biotics to combat the infection, after that he will fill it and you will have no further pain.
Good luck mate, toothaches are really crap.
Reply:There a couple of things that are interesting about this. The problem is caused by the facial nerve being irritated. It passes close to the ear canal and then down across the face to the lower jaw, then down through the jaw to a small hole in the jaw near the chin where passed under the skin to termination point near the mid-line.
Pain can be caused by a tooth or by an ear infection. Sometimes the causative factor isn't close to where you feel the pain. The confusing part, at least to me, is why would the pain go away when standing? If it wasn't for that I would think you might be grinding you teeth when sleeping ( brux) and irritating the nerve. Bell's Palsy also comes to mind but usually it is sudden and not a come and go thing.
Would like to know the reason when diagnosed.
Reply:Sounds like it could be a sinus infection.
Reply:never mind you may get over it!!!!!!!!! so where is FANG-QUACKS THEN!!! I hope it just means the dentist ,best of luck.
Reply:Yes, it does sound like sinus pain. This can take many forms, Try inhaling Olbas oil at night .you might be pleasantly surprised Good luck.
Reply:This may be a cluster headache variant if your lucky. The worst possible scenario could be an aneurysm of the anterior cerebral artery compressing on the trigeminal ganglion. I would definitely consult a neurologist for an MRI or at least consult a dentist trained in craniofacial pain and TMJ dysfunction. Go to the website www.aacfp.org
Your life may be in limbo if you have an aneurysm and don't know it!

Reply:sounds like you need a filling , keep taking some painkillers till you appointment
Reply:It sounds more like a sinus infection on your left side that is extending down into your teeth. Sometimes it will even refer pain to the teeth on that side in the jaw since the nerve branches out down there too. Most sinus teeth pain will usually affect you most at the end of the day and especially upon laying down. You should rule out anything with the teeth with your "fang-quack" (as you call us) but you should also visit your general doctor to check for sinus infection. Different sinus infections affect you differently. Good luck.

Good luck.
