Any suggestions on severe toothache besides going to the dentist to get it pulled?
Toothache!?
I don't know of anything garanteed to work short of havin it pulled.
Reply:buy some oil of cloves from health food store. Put some on cotton wool and hold it against the tooth or bite down if its a molar. Ibuprofen and paracetacol 3-4 times a day
Reply:nope. oral gel will numb it for a little while but the pain does come back!
Reply:Try bonjela gel
Reply:Use Clove oil or eat some Ice
Reply:take some aspirin and try some ora-gel
go to a dentist, why risk infection
Reply:Well, if its too bad you may need a root canal, but they can be expensive. If its a back tooth i would suggest getting it pulled much cheaper and not noticable. But hold ice outside the cheek where the tooth is located to deaden the pain the nerve is giving off. Also any type off Ibuprofen 200mg take about 4. Every 4hours. Or you can use ambesol and soak a cotton ball in it then apply it to the side of the gum next to the tooth and leave it there, that should help deaden tha pain. Well i hope you feel better :(
Reply:A few drops of tea tree essential oil can be infused in water. Cleansing the mouth with this solution can give rapid relief to inflamed gums. It is a very potent antibacterial.
Reply:stop chocolate ,other sweates%26amp; cold water.
Reply:Had Route canal on Tuesday morning. Suprise my whole jaw on my left hand side now hurts. I am going back this afternoon for him to have another look. So avoid route canal and have it pulled.
Reply:I just went through this a few days ago. I was away when the toothache started (Saturday) and couldn't get to a dentist until Monday. I don't know if it will work for you, but it did for me.
I had a bottle of water on the (room temperature) cool side (not cold) and I let the water rest on the tooth for a few minutes. Wow, it worked, but I had to repeat that a few times. The pain stopped for awhile, but of course every time it returned, I did it again. Well, I made it through the weekend, with my pain under control and Monday I had the tooth pulled. The funny thing is, this was a cold sensitive tooth. But the pain was so bad, that the cold interrupted the tooth pain and it seems the tooth focused on that rather than the tooth ache.
