Toothache???????????
take painkillers
Reply:Depends how old you are.
If you are an adult, take 400mg ibuprofen every 4 hours, and co-codamol every 4 hours as well. take the ibuprofen first, then the co-codamol 2 hours later so you alternate tablets every 2 hours. make sure you read the lables on both lots to make sure you can take them.
Only take ibuprofen if you dont have asthma, stomach problems like an ulcer or high blood pressure. Also, co-codamol can constipate you a bit, so be warned.
Both taken in conjuction with each other are a very effective way of dealing with toothache, good luck!
If you are a child, check with your mum, Im sure she has some kids paracetamol or ibuprofen in the house.
Reply:Toothaches are painful but can be prevented
by take suitable precautions. Avoid eating
food which will result in the formation of acid
in the mouth, brush teeth regularly with a fluoride
toothpaste. I found the information at

Reply:Oil of cloves would really help a lot ,you put it on a small ball of cotton wool and place it on the tooth,
You can buy it in a chemist or try nurofen that should help even a warm cloth placed on your cheek helps a bit
Reply:take tynelo every 4-6 hours for pain
Reply:I heard of a case where a man thought he had toothache, BUT after having teeth removed the pain remained.
His doctor later diagnosed sinus pains which can refer pain to the gum line.
Reply:If you had a dental abcsess then your dentist should probably have given you an antibiotic to take at some stage. Or they may have decided to extract the tooth to allow for drainage of the abcsess - either way your pain might not be alleviated for at least 2 to 3 days.
The analgsia regime advised by the pharmacist will def help in the mean time! If no real progress is made - go back to your dentist.
Reply:when i was 20 i had a really bad tooth ache, it was new years eve and i went to emergency dentist and had root filling with temporary dressing. it was awful. i got brufen from chemist. that didnt do much so at four in the afternoon started drinking special brew, went to the pub at 7pm, drunk tons of lager, none of this worked, started to drink treble woods rums as these were the strongest drink in the pub, last thing i remember was asking a total stranger if he would punch me in the jaw on the other side to take my mind off the tooth. he didnt, i blacked out. Sorry not good answer but crazy memory, thanks for helping me to remember why i dont drink alcohol any more!
Reply:This sounds like 'dry socket', a condition where the nerves and bone are exposed and become extrmely painful.
Get to your dentist as soon as possible.
I can tell you how to get rid of the pain until you get help. The hint comes from a Chinese-Canadian dentist who uses the method instead of freezing for all dental work.
Pinch the earlobe on the side where the pain is and it will disappear within 10 minutes. (The dentist attaches a clothes peg to the earlobe.) A tight-fitting clip-on earring will also do the trick. It has to be tight, and it has to be continuous.
Acupuncture in the same spot would help, too, of course.
