What are some remedies, homemade or otherwise for toothache pain?

What are some remedies for toothache that anyone knows about? Anything and everything is welcome...I don't care what you say, I just need to know what helpful, gentle and supportive and friendly advice you guys have on this terrible and unjust issue...

Also, does anybody know about the latest advances on dental care and enamel restoration and remineralization of teeth, which is restoring a tooth that is decayed or rotted, like it has a cavity in it? The opposite of that would then likely be called tooth demineralization or tooth decay. Of course, this happens for many reasons and tooth decay and toothache has been plaguing mankind for years. I need sensitive people who are going to anser this question with an understanding and yet honest and decent and mature response, because this is a sensitive issue for all mankind and I need answers as soon and as fast as possible.

So in short, tell me all the advice/solutions for tooth decay and toothache (pain) and remedies...ty so much!!!

What are some remedies, homemade or otherwise for toothache pain?
I will tell you what I did for a toothache. If you do not pull it. Check and see what the reason for the toothache is. The tooth is infected, and needs to stay very clean. If cavity is in between the teeth it is almost impossible to pick it clean. Floss. I put an activated charcoal poultice on it, and that took care of the infection. After the pain is gone,(in two days of that) keep it very clean. Take a Capsicum capsule every day. That will help take care of the other teeth. Also brushing with a grain or two on your tooth paste or powder that you use, will help bring the blood flow to the gums and teeth area. That helps heal. Always brush and floss at least every day. Get checkups every year.
Reply:for pain....crush some aspirin and pack it into the tooth where the cavity or hole is that is causing the pain
Reply:If you can find it blackberry's root, boil in water and pack into the tooth, and find a good dentist because infection needs meds. and the dentist can save your teeth if there is anything left to save. The longer you wait the less of chance you have to save the tooth
Reply:I've had the worst experiences with my teeth too and I can tell you that the best thing for tooth pain is Advil and Sensodyne. Just leave it on your tooth for at least 10 minutes. Works like a charm. Keep doing it to keep the pain from coming back.
Reply:You can buy clove oil at a pharmacy to put on the tooth to numb the pain.
Reply:Tooth enamel is made from a substance called microcrystalline hydroxyapetite. Its calcium bonded with phosphorus - one of the reasons why soda pop will erode enamel, because soda is chock full of phosphorus, and the calcium decides to bond with that...

There is a form of calcium floride that is found in European toothpastes that has been found to bond with teeth to help prevent Carries (i.e. cavities) however, I have greater concerns over flouride - so I dont know if I could recommend them.

You can buy supplements that contain microcrystalline hydroxyapetite - though I have not seen any evidence that they will restore tooth enamel - it might be worth a shot. Solaray is one brand - do a look online for it.

Also - I would worry more about your saliva. Our first defense against tooth decay is actually in our spit - which is there to protect our gums, but also because the ph and the enzymes are detrimental to the class of bacteria that causes decay. (some cause bad breath, some cause decay, and some just happen to end up there from food, breathing, etc - and frankly, dont do anything.

Avoid mouthwashes with alcohol - as a general rule of thumb, they are irritating and drying to gum tissue - if you have a dentist that recommends a certain brand that contains alcohol, go ahead and use it - some drugs (antimicrobials) are best delievered with alcohol - and then you have to weigh the benefit of the drug against the detriment of the drying effect.

One mouthwash (and brand of toothpaste) that I like a great deal is "BIOTENE" it is very mild to the oral tissues, and helps maintain oral ph, and salivary function - and kills bacteria in a way that is not detrimental to oral health. They run between 6-8 dollars depending where you buy it.

Also - CoQ10 is great for the gums -but if you take meds for blood pressure, ask a doctor or pharmacist first - it can increase the effects of certain meds.

Good Luck.
Reply:BEFORE I HAD MY DENTURES, I HAD REALLY BAD TEETH AND THEY WOULD HURT LIKE CRAZY I BE IN BED CRYING. I FOUND OUT TWO THINGS THAT HELPED. ONE WARM WATER WITH SALT IN IT. DON'T SWALLOW IT HOLD IT THERE AND SPIT THE REST OUT. SECOND, A SHOT OF JACK DANIELS HOLD IT UNTIL IT GETS NUMB. AND SPIT IT OUT. BUT THEY REALLY WORKED FOR ME.
Reply:please dont crush asprin and put it on your tooth, that can cause very serious damage to your mouth!! I have a tooth that needs a root canal, which i wont have done, so I've been getting horrible tooth aches for the past 4 years. only thing that helps me is sensodyne tooth paste and listerine. I use it a couple times a day, and helps with the pain sooooooooo much. plus I will take one advil and one tylenol at the same time, then swice and take one adivl and one motrin. should have your tooth ache gone in a day or 2. but it controls the pain so its very mild while u do have. good luck
