Help ive got Toothache?

I had a crown put on about two months ago after the tooth cracked, it was a deep filled tooth. the dentist said i didnt need root canal. then last week my tooth under the crown is sometimes throbing and sensitive to the cold. I Woke up to toothache. im worried they will take off the crown and i will have to pay again for a new one or root work.

Help ive got Toothache?
Maybe just an infection which will clear up with antibiotics...I had a root canal done some time ago. They did not take the crown off. the trouble is a root canal can make your tooth very brittle and it can crack even more...try antibiotics first, could be just an abscess
Reply:Go back to the dentist - all work is guaranteed for six months, I think (UK NHS).
Reply:It does sound as if there is an infection - the only way to know for sure I'm afraid is to go back to the dentist. Antibitoics should clear up an infection, and that could well be it dealt with, If however you do need further treatment to this tooth, then you should not have ot pay up again, you will have to speak to your dentist about this, and let him/her know you are not happy. Rule out infection first though. Good Luck, don't put up with toothache thought its not worth it!!
Reply:Go back and explain all to your dentist who should be able to access your condition and help you.In the meantime try dabbing a little clove oil onto the area of pain with a cotton bud. That stops any infection and numbs the pain for a while.

Good luck hope it gets sorted!
Reply:Initially, you should contact your dentist for a professional opinion before the pain gets any worse. Dental pain can become excruciating and be a really debilitating. The dentist would be able to check whether you have an infection and if so clean the site and treat with anti-biotics if appropriate. However, for short term usuage I suggest you use something like paramol or another pain killer containing codeine to treat the pain until you gt to see the dentist.
Reply:The beggar should of got it right in the first place.

You do not pay for a new product of any sort, expecting it to work fine without hassle, then ask to have it put right. It does not make sense.

I hate toothache, so I sympathise.

But do not pay twice for one job.

Bob the tooth.
Reply:You need a root canal. The nerve of the tooth is infected and it needs to be removed. They will not have to take the crown off. They can drill a small hole through the top of the crown to get to the nerve. After the root canal is complete then they will close up the hole with a filling. The dentist may put you on antibiotics before he does anything to the tooth because sometimes the infection can cause you to not be able to get numb. You should really have this taken care of soon because it is not good for your body to have an infection like that.
Reply:it could be an infection or something that the dentist did. I'd see another dentist for their opinion.
