Can People Die From Toothache?
An infected tooth can spread the infection rapidly into the brain since there are no valves in the blood vessels in the head.. Very dangerous!!
Reply:It is thought that King Tut died from an absessed tooth. X-rays of his mummy showed part of his jaw had degenerated, leading to speculations that it was a severe tooth infection that killed him.
Reply:A toothache itself can't kill, but if it is an infection causing the toothache, the infection can be deadly. Especially if it spreads to the heart.
Reply:Tooth decay can be a sign of hear disease, providing that bacteria from the mouth can enter the bloodstream and become trapped in the heart.Al tho antibiotics and dental have improved and fatalities from infected teeth and gums are rare; how ever , through out most of history bed teeth and gums was a leading cause of death.
Reply:People that don't have a toothache treated can in fact die from it under certain conditions. A toothache is usually caused by a cavity that gets infected. If the infection is left without treatement, it can spread to the blood and begin to eat away the valves in the heart. If that happens long enough, or often enough, a person can have a heart attack and die. This is a fairly common problem with people that can't bear to go to a dentist when they need to, and is also an issue with pets that are not treated when they should be. To research this, try to Google for "peridontal disease" and keyword searches like "infection heart valve". Read up on it, then write your report. Doing the searches yourself is part of the lesson, and it will feed your curiosity. If you don't feed your curiosity, it will die from malnutrition (not toothache).
