How can i ease this toothache?
As a dentist myself it does sound like you have an abscess on your hands. An infected tooth, or abscess as they are called are extremely painful and will need antibiotic therapy. PLEASE see a Dentist or take a trip to your local ER as soon as possible as this CANNOT be fixed on its own and there are NO home remedies that will cure this tooth, you need a dental professional immediately. Antibiotics and pain medication that the doctor will prescribe will eventually help the tooth become less infected (it will take a while for these medications to actually ease the pain) but once you stop antibiotics the infection WILL return and is usually much more painful the second time around. Infection from an abscess tooth can spread to the throat causing an airway obstruction and can spread to the heart and brain and cause very severe problems and sometimes fatal complications. PLEASE see a dentist in your area to discuss treatment as this can become extremely painful, most dentists have an emergency number and will see you on the weekends if you call. Try taking Motrin (ibuprofen) for pain, this will help reduce swelling and will also help control pain. Also try using COLD compresses, do NOT use heat as this can cause the infection to worsen and spread and become more painful. Please see a dentist or ER physician ASAP. Good luck!
Reply:Try oil of wintergreen, can be purchased in drug stores.

There is an OTC for toothaches , ask druggist. Both are very inexpensive but work.
Reply:Try Oragel or Anbesol. Also, try taking Advil or Motrin.
Reply:if u really want it to go away...go buy clove oil..the spices many of us use in ham's or cooking...Get the oil or brak a clove and rub it on ur tooth that aches or gum...Believe me it'll work....it numbs it and its natural trust me it WORKS
Reply:Ambesol or try clove oil, they will deaden the pain and get the swelling to subside
Reply:dont forget to take painkillers as directed every 4 hours if needed to help deter the pain from coming back again full force.antibiotics as directed because that really takes care of pain too by killing the infections that is causing you the pain...my dentist i wotk with tells all patients motrin works best or tylanol extra strengh will do too...ambisol works well because they use that on babies when there teeth are coming in...feel better!!
Reply:You need to go to the nearest pharmacy and ask them for some clove oil - it comes in a little bottle and it's pretty cheap. I've just done it today because I have a toothache - then put it on some cotton wool and rub it on the sore tooth/gums for about 30 seconds and it makes it go numb - I don't know how long it will last, I've just done it now, but it really works!!
