I took 3 Aleve's up to now and i can still feel my tooth pulsating trying to get some pain worked up. Bad thing is, my OBGYN said i can't go to the dentist just yet (i just had a baby and have had some serious health problems) i won't be able to get to the dentist till October, maybe! Plus finances play a part.
I've brushed, i've rinsed, had a warm cup of tea and can still feel it trying to build, this terrifies me.
I have allergies right now too and two ulcers in my mouth (never had those before) could these be playing a part in my toothache? It's this darn left molar....
How many Aleve's or Tylenol can i take? I know what it states on the bottle - 2 every 4-6 hours, but would taking 4 in a 5 hour space hurt?
Anyway, Thanks guys in advance for your kind replies.
Aleve isn't relieving my toothache what else can i do?
If you can try Anbesol or Oragel it really helps with toothache pain and ulcer pain as well. Since your OBGYN knows your condition the best, why not call her and ask if she can call in something stronger for your pain? Alternating Motrin and Tylenol every 4 hours is fine but I don't know if its safe with your health problems. You are better off asking your doctor or a pharmacist. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Reply:try to rub pure vanilla extract on your tooth %26amp; gum area . doesnt taste bad %26amp; numbs tha pain.
Reply:To answer your question about helping to get rid of mouth ulcers...try this natural healing remedy....it will sting like mad and bring tears to your eyes, but it does work. Dip your finger into some bi-carb of soda, then onto the ulcer. Do this two to three times a day. They will be gone in two days.
On the tooth front...is it your tooth and no pressure on your sinus cavity? If so take something for your sinus to drain the pressure away.
Reply:for every ache i have ever had i have always taken motrin
use as directed which you can prlly take two pills every 6-8 hours i think....
they always seem to work and work really fast
just dont' over dose..haha i know your not that stupid though
for mouth ulcers
u can try (which i don't recomend all the time but it does work although it is quit distasteful) rinse your mouth out with wamr salt water 3-4 times a day, drink plenty of milk, and try taking a malox-max plus tablet like twice a day (once when you get up and once before bed) with the milk
aot of ulcers happen becuase of lack of calcium
im sure that having the baby tok alot out of you, which means your body is low on calcium
so drink much milk
each cheese
and dairy products
also....try not to touch the uclers with your tounge to much, that may irritate them more causing much discomfort
Reply:Your OBGYN would never tell you not to go to the dentist! GO TO THE DENTIST! Don't overdose on Aleve. It can be toxic to your liver and cause damage. The dentist will work out a payment schedule for you. Don't torture yourself, be an adult about this!
Reply:It sounds like you have an infection of some kind in your mouth. It may not be possible for you to have dental work done right now because of your other issues, but antibiotics should be possible. Ask the ob/gyn to consult with your dentist about possible solutions to get you through. Maximum daily dose of Naproxen sodium is 1100mg.
Reply:It sounds like you have an infection of the tooth. If your tooth is throbbing and you feel hot pain from inside the tooth, you most likely do. Sometimes it can even feel like someone punched you.
My suggestion: See a dentist anyway. They know how to handle patients with your condition, and will help you.
But in the meantime I suggest the following: Go to your nearest health store and look for Tea Tree Oil. It can be expensive, but worth it. Buy it. Boil your toothbrush with hot water for about thirty minutes to kill bacteria, and then when you use it to brush your teeth, put a few drops of Tea Tree Oil over your toothpaste. Do this twice a day if you can.
The Tea Tree Oil is a known antiseptic and a bacteria killer. It can also help alleviate some pain. Remember to boil your toothbrush again.
After you visit the dentist, you'll probably get antibiotics. Be sure to pick up Cranberry Juice and Vagisil as well. (If you can take those) to prevent Yeast Infection. Also, at this time buy a new toothbrush and throw the other one away.
You don't want to get a new toothbrush until you start taking antibiotics because infection can reoccur.
