I have a toothache, insurance has run out, what to do?

I have a toothache on one of my upper, left almost molars. Whenever I bite down on the tooth, it hurts tremendously. I can also see a small hole in the tooth, if that may mean anything. It also has sensitivity to cold and hot food and drink. What can I do besides go to the dentist, because my insurance has run out.

Noooooo, beware the dental discount plans! They will tell you they will cover UP TO a certain amount and that could mean they will only cover 2%. You need a good comprehensive dental insurance plan, with no waiting periods so you can get that tooth taken care of right away. www.BestForLessDental.com

And in the meantime, the person who suggested clove oil was right on the money. Tastes yucky, but it works fast! Also try the wax they sell for pain with braces, you can put a little patch over your tooth hole to help with the sensitivity. Good luck to you!
Reply:Call your public health department and see if they have any free or low cost dental clinics...if not call the one in the next biggest nearest city and go there if you can.
Reply:go to a dental school it's dirt cheap. i got ceramic fillings for a steal.
Reply:Try a Dental School clinic. If you have Medical coverage find a link to a health matter that might allow you some care.

I have heard of free Dental care at Clinics in low income areas.

Try cloves or a form of cloves to put on the tooth to help the pain.
Reply:I hate to tell you but there is nothing you can do to cure it. You could get some antibiotics if it is infected and that might postpone a visit to the dentists for a little while, but you are going to have to take care of it. Try to find a dentist who can accomodate you in terms of payments. If you need a root canal you might want to get a discount plan so you can get discounted rates. I have one and it turns out a good bit cheaper.
Reply:go any way. its usally not that bad with out insurance, i had to have some stuff taken care of with out it, and it was only like $150. as opposed to it possibly being a whole lot more if you wait.
Reply:monday free clinic / good day /
Reply:go to your dentist now,,,, and either have the tooth pulled or fixed NOW!!!!!
Reply:Nothing you can do to rid the pain permanently. You will need to have it taken care of. For now some antibiotics will get rid of any infection causing the pain and advil does wonders. Also an ice pack on the outside of your jaw can help numb the pain away and do not add heat, that draws the infection out and makes matters worse.
Reply:You definitely need to get it taken care of. It will only get worse. We have discount plan and it's a great savings. I can give you the site.
