I have a killer toothache. My cheek is swollen. What can i do to relieve pain and the swollen cheeks? I have tried ibrufin, paracitamol, clover oil, warm water+salt, rubbing ice on hand - all with little relief. Would amoxil help? and ice pack on cheeks? I can not get to dentist till Thursday.
S.O.S - killer toothache! I need prayers.?
Wow, i know the feeling. meanwhile try to call your dentist and ask for a medicine prescription.
So sorry for you
Reply:Tylenol? There are orajel q tip things that when you pop the tip off they pour painrelieving medicine on the tooth. I've used the baby kind on a teething toddler and it really helped. Here is their page and some other pages that might help. Good luck.

Reply:There is a product you can get at the drug store that may aid you in the pain until then ..... for toothaches ~ sounds like you may have an abcess or something going on ~ Any way you can drive to dentist ~ let them see how much pain ~ maybe they will give you a quick fix until you have your appointment ~ try calling them ~
Reply:Find a dentist that takes emergencies. there is bound to be one in the area. Or call your doctor and tell them what is happening and ask for a prescription for Anti-Biotics cause your gonna get them any way . You have an infected tooth and its gonna ave to come out. If your lucky your dentist will also give you something for the pain till you can come in. good luck!
Reply:a pharmacist told me you can take tylenol and an aspirin product(ibuprofen, naproxen, or aspirin) at the same time, since they tylenol goes thru the liver and the aspirin products go thru the kidneys.
Reply:lots of medication having to do with pain so you can get waisted.
Reply:smoke crack. na! Try the clove stick instead of oil
Reply:Almost certainly need antibiotics. Cipro or Pen. Lots of folks have some laying around.
Reply:i say u need advil and also need to see the dentist.
Reply:u have my prayers. other then a dentist or decapitation i can't think of anything
Reply:Swollen cheek = infection, go to a dentist or emergency room for antibiotics. to relieve pain I fine Aleve works great for teeth. Did you tell the dentist your cheek was swollen???
Reply:Yep amoxil helps but it's not a pain reliever!
Try abesol? in the farmacy, it's a local anestesic, but watch where you apply it, if it gets on your tongue, it becomes numb.
Reply:You have an emergency situation so get off the computer and call the dentist and tell him you need an emergency appointment today. If you dentist says they can't do that then find an emergency dentist in your yellow pages. DO not take antibiotics without a docs say so. Since you seem to have some at home you need to get rid of them at your next drug recycling program in your community. Do not keep old drugs on your shelf. Now get off the computer and call your dentist for an emergency appointment or find an emergency dentist that can see you today.
Reply:You need to either go to a hospital ER, dental school, or dentist who will see emergency cases. Any of these places will give you an Rx for antibiotics to bring that raging infection under control and maybe stronger analgesics to tide you over until you can see your dentist for definitive treatment.
Reply:You can possibly call your dentist and get something for pain. And they may not know your in that amount of pain, so if you tell them they may get you in sooner. ALSO something to remember if you have an infection more than likely when you go thursday they may only give you an antibiotic and then tell you to come back in a few days. They can't drill on an infected tooth.......
Reply:I'm sorry to hear about your distress.
My suggestion is to drink as much alcohol as you can...until you get so wasted that you forget all about your pain.
If you are not a big drinker take lots of Advil that's what my dentist suggests for oral pain.
Reply:You've and abscess my friend and the only thing that will help now is the dentist. How tough are you? I've seen toothaches make grown men weep like a baby, self included. It's important you seek medical attention immediately or the infection in your mouth could go septic. This is very common and nothing to fool around with, if it goes septic, your a dead man, Seriously.
Reply:Call the dentist back and just tell them it's really bad. They will work you in. It sounds like you have an infection going on and that is serious.
The prayers are already on the way. Call the dentist and whine a little though. God's answer may be to get you in earlier!
Reply:Some people get relief by biting down on an aspirin (tastes awful) and others use the oralgels available for teething babies. I have also heard that rubbing whiskey directly on the gum will help numb it. Good luck.
Reply:LOL..."prayers"?
I believe that God's will is gonna happen no matter what "prayers" are thrown at him.
If you have a problem THAT bad, call around to someone that can see you immediately. Why deal with the pain?
Reply:Toothaches are painful but can be prevented
by take suitable precautions. Avoid eating
food which will result in the formation of acid
in the mouth, brush teeth regularly with a fluoride
toothpaste. I found the information at
http://aches.in/preventtoothache.html
Reply:try MUCOPAIN CREAM
Reply:Get to a dentist -- you need antibiotics. If you cant see a dentist ASAP go to your physcian or the local emergency room. Facial swelling althought unlikely can lead to serious infection. Manage your pain with Tylenol but do not overmedicate ... more than 2g/day
