HELP. URGENT. Toothache and gum AGONY. But pregnant?
Get a real good mouth wash some times you get a Yeast infection in your teeth and gums I can't tell you what pain I had every part of my gums and mouth all at the same time, I noticed it mostly when I had sweet things to eat or drink, the mouth wash did the trick, I used one called"Corsodyl" relay good but when your pregnant you do have problems with your teeth, give it a try it's not that expensive it could work.
Reply:try anbesol or even speak to the pharmacists if the anbesol says not to take when pregant.
Reply:Yes. A dentist. Without delay.
Reply:TELL HER TO GO TO A DENTIST!
Reply:Yes...a dentist!! They can still treat her, whether she is pregnant or not. As far as pain relief until she gets to the dentist...she needs to call her doctor and ask what she can take.
Reply:If it is an infection- she needs a doctor right away- don't mess with infections and pregnancy!
Reply:See the doctor/dentist. It is safe to take some antibiotics while preg. Actually, it is better to take the antibiotics than to let infection linger and possibly spread into the blood, which could affect with the pregnancy.

Also, tylenol is pretty safe to take. They may give her something else for pain as well.
Reply:Here are some natural remedies but she might

want to make sure they are ok for her to use.

and as soon as possible see her dentist.
Reply:Even though she is pregnant, she should be able to get an antibiotic from her OB to take. Usually there is an infection if the pain is spreading to her eyes. Also, try teething tablets. Theyre safe to give to newborns and they dont "numb" your mouth or have the awful flavor of orajel.
Reply:Try a topical pain reliever like orajel or baby orajel, but tell her to check the label or with the pharmacist, as far as an oral pain reliever, she can only take tylenol.
Reply:it is said that when your pregnant alot of your calcium and other nutrients goes towards the now growing child inside of you.

This can cause tooth decay , loss and other problems in your mouth.. My gums were bleeding once and I told my mom and she said oh so your the one whos pregnant!,,,and I was like excuse me?! ..... then she told that may happen when ur preggers...

Does your friend still have her wisdom teeth?... I had that type of pain when I had mine.,, either way ...good luck : )
Reply:Before scheduling an appointmen to see a dentist, she needs to contact her OB/GYN and get medical clearance for xray(s) and treatment.... if it's denied, he should be able to help her.

Hope she feels better soon!

:)
Reply:During pregnancy gums can become inflamed for a number of reasons.

1/- You have more pressing things on your mind and your brushing and especially flossing do not become high on your priory list.

2/- Or you may just have a cavity that has become noticible due to hormone changes etc.

You can increase no. 1/- as well as doing vigorous warm salt water mouth rinse and taking an analgesic. (Panadol or Panadeine Forte prescribed by your Dr. I believe you can not take Nurofen (which would be preferable during preganacy) so please make sure you check with your Dr and/or Pharmasist. A trip to your Dentist for a thorough check up and clean would also help.
Reply:sounds like a visit to the dentist is a good thing. won't hurt so far. He might just prescribe Antibiotics or recommend repair if indicated. As last resort the tooth might have to be removed.
Reply:go straight to the dentist. it could be infected... and that is not good to leave .. plus you want to be healthy when preggers.
