Toothache HELP, pregnant 29 weeks?
i have what they call pregnancy gingivitis..and my gums are swollen too and do not bleed..and they hurt..and the dentist told me there is really nothing i could do ..but orajel..and that when i gave birth a couple of weeks later it should go away and if not come back to him..so try the orajel for temporally relief..good luck and congrats..
Reply:If you havent talked to your doctor, do so! I acctualy had a tooth break on me when i was pregnant and was in terrible pain. I got a perscription of vicodin to take, turns out that it doesnt effect the baby. i wasnt thrilled about taking it but it got me through the worse couple of days till tyonal acctual did work.
Reply:You can only take tylenol, but I know from experience that tylenol does nothing for severe toothache. Advil works but you are pregnant so that is out of the question. I had to just go ahead and get a root canal when I was about 24 weeks.
But during pregnancy, your gums undergo major changes due to hormones. They get swollen and sometimes bleed when you brush. See a dentist and make sure they know you are pregnant.
Good Luck!!
Reply:I know that this will sound crazy but one way or the other you have a cold or hot toothache. Try putting an ice pack or some ice in a bag on it for a while and if it doesnt work try a heating pad or bake a potato and wrap it up with a towel and hold to your face. One of the two will work trust me I have dont it many many times before and there is nothing worse than a toothache. Try it It will help.
Reply:Can you get some " clove oil natural " and some sterilized cotton. Make a small ball of cotton, dip in or wet it by clove oil. Keep it on tooth which is giving you problem.
If you get a clove ( not deoiled ) keep it. do not worry swallow juice. Try this natural remedy.
Reply:you can take vicoden and tylenol codean while pregnant. I just went in for tooth work and that's what they offered me. I'm 23 weeks
Reply:Talk to your doctor, there may be something you can put on the teeth to desolve right down into the nerve of the teeth and make it feel better. There's something you should be able to do.Hope you feel better.
Reply:Try swishing Peroxide in your mouth (and of course never swollow it!) That has helped me before. It is much faster than taking a pill too!
Congrats by the way!
