Toothache remedies?

so, he's had a toothache since Saturday, can't get to the dentist until Thursday, what can he do in between now and then to alleviate some of his pain?

Toothache remedies?
As a dentist myself I always recommend Motrin (Ibuprofen), this is the best Over The Counter pain reliever as it will not only help with pain but will also help with inflammation. I usually recommend that my patients take between 600-800mg for ages over 18. Also try an ice pack, this will help numb the area affected and help with inflammation as well. If the pain becomes severe you may want to consider calling your dentists emergency number for advice or to have him/her call you in a narcotic pain medication. Good luck and feel better soon
Reply:Go to the drug store and talk with the pharmacist about over the counter products which can be very helpful.
Reply:Ibuprophen %26amp; try putting Cloves on the spot....that really does numb it!!
Reply:Check out this link! It has so many easy ways to relieve you of your pain.

Reply:go to an urgent care.
Reply:here are three options first i would try a product called hyland's homeopathic teething tablet, you can find these at the grocery store in the baby isle. They really do work! second i would try putting whole cloves on the tooth and around the gums, this will numb the area and you can find this in the spice isle of any grocery store, lastly if nothing else seems to work try motrin. I have noticed and i am not sure why but motrin seems to relieve toothaches but regular ibprophen sometimes just wont... confusing i know. I would try the teething tablets first- they have always worked very well for my family
