Terrible Toothache?

Terrible toothache and terrible is an understatement. No sleep, can't eat, blood, worst pain. It's the weekend and there is no dentist at the hospital. What to do? What to do? Any instant remedies, not a cure, just some relief till monday please.

Terrible Toothache?
Take two Ibuprofen pills to stop the pain and inflammation. Rinse your mouth with warm water and peroxide. You may have an abcess which will need to be seen by a doctor. You can also go to the emergency room where they would give you an antibiotic if the pain is really bad. You can take the Ibuprofen every 4 hours until you can be seen by a doctor. I feel for you. I know how it can be and it isn't very pleasant. Put warm compresses on your face, too. That may help.
Reply:Try rinsing with some hydrogen peroxide diluted with some water. Best of luck!
Reply:Try taking some Tylenol or Aleve. That is what I take when I get toothaches and it really helps.
Reply:Go to the hospital trauma center. More than likely the doc will give you an antibotic, and something for pain as well.
Reply:well if u can get to a chemist this is what to do.....

nurofen liquid tablets, take 2 the first time! and get 500mg tablets of paracetemol and take 2 of them the first time after that take 1 of each every 4 hours! i get the worste toothache ever! and thats all that works! i have tried everythin! u need 2 eat b4 them though! so have a cup a soup or something!!!

if it's really bad also get bongela and plaster your mouth with that! and you can get oraldene mouthwash for toothache!
Reply:There is an old remedy my Grandmother used to use and it was to put ground up cloves on a piece of cotton and place it on the tooth. She would also put a piece of cotton soaked in whiskey on it to numb the nerve a bit.
Reply:Toothache is usually because of the inflammation of the pulp . If a tooth is affected home remedies like clove oil can provide temporary relief, but it is advisable to visit a dentist for a long term solution. More information available at

Reply:Go get some Dr. tishners concetrated mouth wash. What you do is take a shot and hold it on the tooth as long as you can cause trust me it wont be in your mouth long. Its made from pure pepermint extract and what it will do is deaden the nerve. good luck.
Reply:Peroxide rinses will only help the gum tissue. You don't need that, you have a dying nerve and are in need of a root canal. If you can, take 600 mg of Ibuprofen (motrin) and three hours later take 2 extra strength tylenol. Keep alternating these two every three hours. It is great for both inflammation and pain and should at least help hold you over until you can get to the dentist.
