I have been to the dentist, he said the pain is being caused by my wisdom teeth moving about, but they won't be through for another 2 years.. Anyway, I have had dreadful toothache for 3 days now and been unable to sleep. I've tried pain killers, cloves, salt water but nothing is helping. :(!
Bad toothache! Remedy??
you poor thing!
Over the counter pain relievers, especially those with anti inflammitory properties, such as ibuprophen, taken at the maximum allowable dose for you .(depending on age and weight). Most adults can safely take 400mg total ibuprophen every 6 hours.
Seek a second opinion. Most oral surgeons will remove them long before they are ready to come through. Unless of course, the wisdom teeth are not yet fully developed. Some dentist will not remove wisdom teeth if the root on it is not fully developed.
I would definately get a second opinion on removal if they are hurting you.
feel better soon!
Reply:Clove oil on cotton wool, pushed down on it. Or some neat whisky washed round the area. It hurts I know, feel better soon x
Reply:there are toothache swabs available at any grocery or drug store they are called zilactin they only work temporarily but they work wonders for me and my boyfriend. also try ambesol or pure vanilla extract on the gums liberally.
Reply:heres the best way ever to relieve pain in your teeth.. i do it often... this only works if you have filings, but the best thing to do is to chew tin foil over the filling... (it is the best feeling..) it is amazing and it really works... (thanks for the points!)
Reply:Well for now you can buy some tooth pain relief for temporary pain relief till you can get in to see a dentist.
Reply:i am having the same problems but if you put some num stuff on your tooth it might go away.
Reply:You can always use alcohol to numb the pain which is an old remedy. Or buy some medicine from your pharmacy for toothaches
Reply:check the other questions asked, this was asked about two hours ago!
Reply:I feel your pain. I've had 2 impacted wisdom teeth for a few years now. There is no room for them come in so they're just cramped in there...sometimes causing a shooting pain in my jaw that hurts like a mutha. I've been to the dentist and of course I'm told to get them taken out. BUT, finding the time (for the surgery and recovery) is a joke. Anyway, sometimes I rub orajel on the gums (it temporarily numbs the area). It's not a cure-all remedy but it soothes the pain for awhile. Other than that, I take Aleve or Motrin. Good luck and hang in there! Get those things yanked if you have to. You'll thank yourself later.
Reply:well the remedy is to drink water and swoosh it around where it hurts. then spit the water out the pain will kinda fill better a little. another way is to not think about the pain cause if u dont think about it then u wont fill it because you are more focused about something else than you kinda forget about the pain. it works for a long time as long as you dont touch the pain spot
Reply:ginger flavor brandy, place on Q-tip then area that is bothering you! Or take a 1 teaspoon leave in mouth for 1 minute the spit out!
Reply:definatly clove oil, should be in every medicine cabinett. It is very potent.
Reply:Propolis drops, on cotton wool
Or, when my wisdom teeth were comming out, I used gingival gel for babies and it helped a lot.
Good luck!
