Toothache - Help Please!!!?

I have a toothache in the top back of my mouth, every time I bite down, it hurts, and tonight, it started throbbing. I have two wisdom teeth pulled on the same side of my mouth a couple of weeks ago.

It has been hurting since, but tonight was the first time it started throbbing. I have heard cloves work, and they have worked for some other teeth in the past, any other suggestions???? I know I need to get to the dentist, but until I get there, I would like some help to relieve the pain without having to take pain medication. Thanks for any suggestions....

clove oil is an excellent natural remedy for toothaches. check out http://www.realhomeremedies.com and click on the toothache link on the left for more tips.
Reply:rinse with warm salt water and then crush and aspirin and put it on it
Reply:Tylenol.
Reply:Try a warm, wet cloth on the side of your face, rinse with warm salt water and soft foods until you can get to a dentist
Reply:Orajel works well.
Reply:Ice is very very good for toothaches, on the outside of the mouth, never hold ice on your tooth.

I have had my share of toothaches, and I find ice to do the best.
Reply:smoke marijuana, no its not bad for you and less dangerous then prescription drugs so if you can get ahold of some safely then do so.
Reply:As a dentist I recommend using over the counter Motrin for toothache relief as it will help relieve pain and also any inflammation. If you are totally against ANY medication try using Orajel and COLD compresses. DO NOT use heat as if you have an infection this can cause it to worsen and spread. PLEASE see your dentist ASAP.
Reply:Heat or Ice on the exterior of the mouth and tylenol or ibuprophen. Get to the dentist as soon as you can. You may have an abcess, this is an imfection pocket. You could also be experiencing *dry sockets* this is very painful, too. You should not delay going to your dentist.
Reply:When I have a tooth ache, I use Kanka, it will numb it for you. You can get it at Wal-Mart in the medicine section.
Reply:HELLO POLYWOG,

THE PAIN MAY BE FROM THE OPPOEING TEETH HITTING THE HEALING GUMS. SINCE THE TEETH WERE PULLED A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO THE PAIN IF IT WERE CAUSED BY "DRY SOCKET" WOULD BE HORRIBLE AND WOULD BE ACCOMPANIED BY A FOUL SMELL.

HAVE YOU TAKEN IBUPROFEN (ADVIL) FOR THIS? YOU CAN TAKE 4 TABLETS WHICH IS EQUAL TO TAKING 1 MOTRIN 800mg EVERY 4-6 HOURS AS NEEDED FOR PAIN. IF THERE IS ALSO SWELLING A WARM, MOIST COMPRESS WILL HELP.
Reply:Hey coworker....the pain is called "DHR" and it can only go away by getting another job
