Toothache - Looking for temp pain reliever?

Basically my little sister has a terrible toothache. She and I haven't slept in days, and she is in a lot of pain. We went to the dentist, the dentist did an exam, and basically told us he can't fix the problem until next week. We got some antibiotics, but I honestly think that isn't going to cut it, at least not for the next couple of days.

For the past couple of days we have tried clove oil, Tylenol, moutrin, salt walter, mouth wash, baking soda, Orajel, and lime. Non of that works.

My sis is nine years old, we are missing a lot of sleep, she is missing a lot of school, and I'm missing a lot of work. There must be something out there to relieve this pain until we can fix it.

Do you think we should try to get something from a doctor?

If you can give more details about the nature of the pain that would help us give you a better answer, what was the dentist diagnosis of the pain? and did he postpone the treatment due to his busy schedule or something else?

======================Update:

Not sure if you mean a class 2 cavity instead of grade 2, but I think the tooth needs to be opened to relief the pressure causing the pain, try to find another dentist or a specialist (pedodontist) if she is a difficult child to manage, they can accept you as an emergency patient very quickly to open the tooth and relief the pain. then you can go back to your dentist to finish the treatment. if that's not possible, your only option is to stay on antibiotic, and some stronger pain killer until you see your dentist next week. you can call your dentist for another prescription if you are running out, eventually the abscess (what I assume is the source of the pain) will drain out relieving the pressure and causing the pain to stop, but this might take couple days to happen.

Good Luck
Reply:Ibuprofen will help w/ any inflamation..an anitbiotic will help w/ any infrection, but only for a while, it really comes down to getting into a dentist and fixing the tooth before it abcesses.
Reply:Just keep giving her what you have been giving her like clove oil, tylenol, motrin, salt water, mouthwash, baking sode, oragel, and time...Maybe if you keep using it, it will start working. Other than that i don't know what to tell you. Good luck!
Reply:the antibotics will be the best they will be better than any thing and shouldnt take long to work just take it easy dont put a heating pad on her heat draws infection Salt water will draw infection out swish every time she eats and make her rest her mouth eat only soft things (mash potatoes, scambled eggs, soup) and dont chew on that side. Hope these things help
