A parked car was coming at me ...so I hit it...THIS IS HOW BAD this ache is becoming. I also have a slight constant headache %26amp; ear ache to boot. Please all of you who has experienced this type of pain give me any help. Its gonna be a long week before I will be seen. I work in a C/S job and Im very close to becoming postal. The advil and anbelsol in making me sick to my stomach.

First tylenol doesn't help, period. Next the pain is most likely caused by infection. SOoo, take double dose of ibuprofin, you can even do it every two hours if it is really bad. Don't lay down, that only makes the pain worse. Sit in a recliner to sleep, or with a bunch of pillows. Finally if you have any antibiotic on hand amox. is the best, start now. Tell the dentist and they might prescribe it over the phone for you if the pain is that bad, but the antibiotic is the key for the pain to start to get better.
Reply:Have u tried a temp filling. U can find them at Walgreens and that type of store. Heating pad may also work or hot water bottle.

Good luck
Reply:why don't you just call the dentist and have him fax in some pain meds to a pharmacy? it is the least he can do if he is going to make you wait 6 days.

you should be on antibiotics too. ask for them as well.

other than that there is not much going to dull that pain.
Reply:Salt and Tylenol. Don't gargle with it, swish it around every hour or so and after you eat or drink anything at all. The whiskey probably made it worse, don't do that.

Use an Oral Antiseptic. It comes in a mouth-wash looking bottle, and foams up inside your mouth.

That's about all you can do. Don't eat surgary foods/drinks. (sugar breeds bacteria like crazy.)

Use the Ambisol to numb the problem area. Drink lots of water.

And remember NO SUGAR.
Reply:Don't use ice that will make it worse. Try a heat pack instead. Contact your Dentist and see if they can offer you some advice.
Reply:When this happened to me my dentist told me:

A. DO NOT USE HEAT!!!!!

B. Use ice instead and NOT inside the mouth, on the cheek.

C. Sleep with head elevated.

D. Prescribed antibiotics and pain meds (codeine) until root canal was scheduled.

Call your dentist back in the morning and get "D" taken care of.

Also, a toothache, especially with an infection which is what yours sounds like is not something to fool around with for many reasons. My older brother (40s) now has acute pericarditis because an infection in a cavity and a delayed root canal procedure allowed the infection to spread to his heart. Get the antibiotics asap. Go to an md if you have to. Just get them.

I so know how you feel. I had my toothache -even with the root canal and follow-up crown - for about 6 weeks total time. It was all I could think about. Good luck.
Reply:You should call your doctor/dentist and ask them to prescribe you some strong painkillers until your appointment. Something containing codeine would be best if you can get it. Also probably a good idea to try and get some of that temporary filling stuff to fill in the cavity yourself, incase the nerve is exposed at the minute. If you can't get hold of your doctor or dentist and you can't handle the pain anymore, go to your local A%26amp;E or ER; they won't pull the tooth out or anything, but they will give you painkillers to keep you going until your appointment. I hope you find something which helps.
