Really bad toothache?

my co-worker has a really bad toothache. she recently had her tooth pulled....a back molar....she needs a rootcanal.....is it hurting because there are nerve endings that are exposed...and should she put a peice of cotton down in the hole to stop the pain?

Really bad toothache?
go to walgreens and get this toothache medicine i forgot what it is called but it will be easy to find.
Reply:because it was pulled - there is trauma to that area. take tylenol and rinse her mouth with some salt water. call her dentist to make sure that there isn't something more than that.
Reply:Call a pharmacy ask them what to buy.
Reply:Tell her to back to the dentist and ask for some pain medicine.
Reply:There is a product sold at many pharmacies that is difficult to find. It is in a small brown bottle and has the Red Cross label on the bottle. I have used this product for many years and it's purpose is to kill the nerve endings that are exposed. Works great!!!! But beware--it's so potent it will make you drool for a few minutes but guarnateed to eliminate the pain.
Reply:since the tooth has been removed, do not put anything in the hole it came out of. by doing that, you will cause what's know as a dry socket, it is extremely painful. I've never had one, but my friend did, and she was in agony. there should be a blood clot in the hole where the tooth was removed, and it's there for a reason, and needs to be left alone. if the blood clot is not there, it has probably come out too soon, leaving her with a dry socket. if that's the case, she should call her dentist. they can give her some medication to help until it heals. she might also check with a pharmacist, they might have an idea about what to do.

Hope your friend feels better soon.
