TMJ or toothache??

My mouth, gums, lower jaw, and teeth(especially one tooth) has been hurting since Thursday Night. I have had TMJ for 9 years and never had this much pain. I went to the doctor yesterday because I thought I may have an ear infection. However, the doctor said it was my TMJ. Can TMJ make all your teeth hurt, but make one really sensitive?? But my lower jaw, joints, cheek, and gums hurt too. Is this a toothache or just TMJ?

TMJ or toothache??
I'd have your dentist check it out.

Pain/discomfort CAN radiate to other areas, this is true. And TMJ can also cause ear aches (I suffer from this as well).

Go visit your dentist. They can take an x-ray to see if there hyper sensitivity is due to the TMJ, or if there's another problem there. Don't wait, though!

Your dentist can also make some appliances for your TMJ. I have both daytime and nighttime appliances. The daytime one is clear, small and no one can tell I'm wearing it. It helps me tremendously!!

Best of luck to you...hope this helps.
