Toothache that quits hurting when I eat... Why?

I have had a toothache for about the last 2 days on my far right upper tooth. I was just at the dentist less than a month ago so I doubt it's too serious, but it quits hurting (temporarily) when I eat something. I've tried flossing, brushing, and using all kinds of mouthwashes hoping to get whatever was caught out, but it doesn't do any good. I'm particularly stupefied because of my excellent oral hygiene habits, I've never really had any toothaches. .Any thoughts on what's causing this?

i dunno..but keep eating !! =]
Reply:It won't hurt to go get it checked out, you may have something that the doc didn't see.
Reply:Sometimes food will cover up the exposed nerve temporarily and your pain will stop---if indeed it IS a toothache. You could have gum issues which will feel like a toothache.

I would call or visit my dentist just to be sure!

Good Luck!
Reply:wise teeth?? Rootcanal?
Reply:sounds like it might be an abcess and could be infected and putting pressure on it relieves the pain sometimes. Ive had that happen plenty of times. you might have a cavity that no one noticed.or a small hole or a chip in it and it got infected you need to go back to the dentist and tell them whats going on and have them check(xrays might help)
