Pregnant with toothache?

I am 3 months pregnant and I have a toothache. I just got over the flu and was popping Tylenol pills like crazy to help bring my fever down. Well now I have a toothache and my body seems to be immune to Tylenol. Since I am pregnant I can't get any major dental work done, so if my toothache is the cause of something serious, the dentist can't do anything about it right now. So I am stuck with having to find some other way to deal with the pain. Is there anything besides Tylenol that pregnant women can use for a toothache?

Pregnant with toothache?
I am right there with you; except 4 months. I asked my Dr. %26amp; she said as long as its earlier than 6 months its okay to take ibuprofen. Because tylenol wasn't doing anything for me %26amp; it was the worst pain Ive been in. As long as its not aspirin then it's okay to take sparingly. That seemed to help out for me;; that %26amp; orajel.

but good luck %26amp; congratulations!
Reply:it won't fix the problem but what about some numbing gel of some sort? I'd look it up and see what you can find and then check with your doctor to see if it is ok to take. It might give you a little relief...
Reply:use liquid tylenol and rub it on your gums.
Reply:usually ur ob will tell you to make a dentist appointment in the beginning of your pregnancy. i know mine did for both my pregnancies. i am not sure if they can do any thing. but, i am sure they can help in some sort of way. i would call ur ob first and see what they have to say then call ur dentist. good luck. toothaches are the worst :(
Reply:What kind of toothache is it?

Do you know what's causing the toothache? (Cavity?)

I just read that pregnancy affects your mouth, mostly your gums... and that you're more likely to get gengivitis.

Before I knew I was pregnant I also had a terrible toothache and I went to the dentist and he told me I was clinching my teeth in my sleep! I thought he was crazy, there was no way that clinching my teeth could cause a toothache like this in just one tooth! So I got all upset and left! Then a few days later I decided to go to Wal-Mart and get a nightguard and I'll be damned if it didn't help right away!

You may be clinching your teeth in your sleep!

I found out a few weeks later that I was pregnant when this was going on... It may have actually been the reason for me clinching my teeth in some way... some sort of reaction my body had... who knows!

Anyways, look into that with your dentist!

You could probably try some sort of numbing cream in your mouth to see if that helps.

Good luck!
