TOOTHACHE Please help?

Okay My mom has a really REALLY bad toothache, about a week ago her filling came out and it hurt everytime she ate and stuff but today she decided to eat on the other side of her mouth to ease the pain. BUT THAT BROUGHT ALONG A VERY BAD TOOTHACHE. Does anyone know anyway to ease the pain. She has tried salt water, Tylonol, antibiotics, pain killers nothings working and im very afraid shes gonna take to many of something and shes gonna OD please dont joke

TOOTHACHE Please help?
She has to go to the dentist, every day she waits will make it worse.

She should continue with the salt water rinse often and take the Tylenol, but get in to see the dentist ASAP.

This isn't something that can be fixed with home remedy's. She may need a root canal, I know that that sounds terrible but dentists have gotten so good these days that it wont be bad at all, there are many places that will put her to sleep during the procedure so she wont feel it.

Get her to the dentist.
Reply:She needs to call a 24 hour emergency dentist and get this taken care of. She should not take any antibiotics without a doc ok.
Reply:She should go to the emergency dept. It could be infected or something %26amp; they will be able to give her what she needs %26amp; by the way you are a great kid caring for your Mom like that ,shes very lucky
Reply:Go to the dentist and have the problem checked out. Getting rid of pain just covers up the problem is doesn't solve it.
Reply:go to the drugstore and ask for orabase, use it directly on the spot that hurts, it will numb it very well and to take 800 mg ibuprofen if not allergic
Reply:Please don't let her take anything else. She will need to sleep with her head propped up for tonight because it will hurt more if she lays her head down. She needs to go to the ememrgency room if the pressure does not let you or if she can make till in the morning she needs to go to one of the those 24 hour emergency care clinics.
Reply:Encourage her to go the dentist. In between time She can take 800mg of ibuprofen and two Tylenol. The ibuprofen helps w/inflammation and the Tylenol helps w/pain. The combination works wonders.
Reply:I had a filling come out once and this same thing happened to me. She might have gotten something stuck in the tooth that's putting pressure on a nerve. The best thing to do would be to get to a dentist. What I did was brush the tooth really hard in all directions, then swish water around vigorously, then repeat over and over until the damn thing came out. It hurt like HELL to brush it so hard, but once whatever it was got dislodged, the pain was GONE. It could be something really small.

Until she gets to a dentist, she shouldn't eat anything hard or with fibers in it. (like raw veggies or chips) Tell her to stick to soft stuff.
Reply:Clove Oil

Obtained at most pharmacies, is a good SHORT TERM topical treatment applied with a swab between the gum and the effected tooth. I'd ask the pharmacist for it personally, it is a very old method and it's usually not out on the shelves amongst the other oral care products.

YES! It does taste awful but it does work.

Ibuprofin is also good to take along with this topical, it's a great anti-inflamatory, make sure to get to a dentist ASAP though.
Reply:Ask your mom to bring out some money and check herself with a good dentist .
Reply:She should see a dentist asap.My filling came out and I did not see a dentist soon enough. Saturday, my mouth was very swollen . I had to take antibiotics for five days. When I went back to the dentist, he x-ray my tooth, and filled it, because the root was good. She can not get around seeing a dentist, she should go before she has the problem I had.
Reply:She really needs to go to the dentist!
