Bad toothache?
We use to always recommend ibuprofen, ( advil, motrin)
Also, do not sleep laying flat, always elevate your head with a lot of pillows. Lying flat can cause more of a throbbing pain.
If your tooth is hurting that bad, it's probably more than just a little cavity. You better call your dentist, don't wait too long as it could get worse.
Reply:Is there any swelling in the gum area around that tooth? It could be the beginning of Periodontal Disease. You need to visit your dentist as soon as possible because that stuff can spread to other teeth, and if it gets bad enough (and it advances fast) you could lose all your teeth. Good luck, friend.
Reply:I had a bad toothache last year. I had to eat THREE 500mg Motrin (per my doctors request) every six hours until I could get it extracted the following week. Turns out my root was exposed.
Reply:hi
I know its the worst pain ,for now take any antibiotics if you have any and take pain killers ,it could be a infection That's what happenend to me
good luck!
Reply:pain is a symptoms of a infection wash your mouth out with hydrogen peroxide after you brush hold over the place that hurts for a min. DON'T SWALLOW ANY get some antibiotics My teeth hurt all the time it won't stop the pain but it will bring it down some good luck , I have also taken a aspirin and crunch it on the soar tooth tastes bad hurts some but helps after a while .
Reply:If it hurts more when you put something hot in your mouth it is probably an abscess on that tooth or a nearby one. Take aspirin and go to dentist right away.
If it is an upper tooth it could be sinus infection, which will hurt more when you bend over with your head beneath your waist. Breathing steam and sinus medication will help this
Reply:See DENTIST ASAP!
Toothaches are a sign that there may be more to worry about then just a little pain. The causes of toothache are several but the major causes are, dental cavity, a cracked tooth, exposed tooth root, gum disease, disease of the jaw joint or spasms of the muscles used for chewing. It is possible for the cause of a toothache to originate from an entirely different problem such as heart attack or angina but this is quite rare. It can be noted however that some patients suffering angina will show toothache or jaw pain as the only symptoms so it is always best to let your dentist or doctor evaluate you.
